May Arts:: Ribbon Baby Hop

May Arts Ribbon is run by the fabulous Ribbon Lady and today the Ribbonistas are helping to celebrate the arrival of the Ribbon Lady's new baby!

I created a door latch cover in a pretty, feminine design made from the amazing Cotton Blend with Vintage Inspired Print line in 2.5".

I started by cutting two four inch lengths of the ribbon in the Pink Floral Print (468-25-17) and put some cotton batting in between. Then I cut two four inch lengths of the 5/8" Elastic Ribbon in Light Pink (465-58-17) as well.

I then made a loop on each short end of the ribbon base with the elastic ribbon and stitched a border. I'm not a great sewer, so this simple task was quite welcome!

You just slip the elastic loop on one side of the door handle and the other loop on the other side. This squishes the door latch back into the door and when the door closes, it doesn't make a sound.

There are many different styles in the Cotton Blend with Vintage Inspired Prints, some perfect for boys and others gender neutral, so I know this will be my go-to baby gift for the future.

Here's the line up for yesterday and today! Make sure to stop by the May Arts Blog for more details and prize information!

LID:: April 2015 Release:: Day 3

Welcome back to the third and final day of the April New Release Hop for Lil' Inker Designs! The products and inspirational projects are amazing, aren't they? You should have arrived from Heather Hoffman's amazing blog if you are following the hop!

My first project showcases a few products! I started by die cutting and creating a mini-envelope from the Petal Card Die. (Check out my fellow teammates blogs to see other ways to use this die!) and stamped a vine detail from the beautiful and soft Send Pretty Greetings Stamp Set. I then created a way to secure the envelope by affixing two brads on each flap and tying a bow with May Arts Natural Burlap String. I adhered the envelope to a decorated card base that had been selectively stamped with a greeting from Send Pretty Greetings.

For the inside of the envelope I die cut numerous flowers in just two passes from the Perky Posies Die! When the envelope is opened, the posies flutter out, much like confetti.

My final project of this release features the We Connect Stamp Set with a greeting from Just Sayin'. I stamped the circles repeatedly and added my own "stitching". After I was finished, I thought they eluded to baseballs, so I went with a red card base and black and red accents. I'll give this card to one of my boys' little league coaches at the end of the season.

There are a few other products from this release that I didn't feature but are just as amazing! Glassine Mini Envelopes (works perfectly with the Petal Card Die) and Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Squares, featuring new sizes!

LID:: April 2015 Release:: Day 2

Welcome back to the second day of the April New Release Hop for Lil' Inker Designs! You should have arrived from Lea Lawson's amazing blog if you are following the hop!

I love, love, love my first card today...I can say that right, about my own creations?! It features a new stamp and die set from Lil' Inker Designs called Vintage Ink. I adore the distinctive designs in this set, and it is even better that there is a coordinating die set to go with it! Along with the stamps and dies, I used some washi tape to finish the design.

I think I might like my second card just as much. Lil' Inker Designs!has another flower set and coordinating dies debuting this month called Awesome Blossom. I adore the two step stamping offered by this set. The sentiments are amazing too, but I decided to go with a sentiment from the All About Amperseand Set. I love how the bold sentiment works with the dainty flowers.

LID:: April 2015 Release:: Day 1

I always love when we have a New Release Hop for Lil' Inker Designs! This April Release is exceptional, like all the others are!! You should have arrived from You should have arrived from our newest design team member's blog: Heather Hoffman if you are following the hop.

First up to show you is an cute and funky card featuring the Boxed Up Birthday Die and Party Pachyderms Stamp Set! I stamped the elephant onto a card base and just trimmed around his ear and trunk, lifting them up from the card base. This allowed me to tuck in the die cut I made from Boxed Up Birthday for a fun and festive card.

Next up I have another card featuring Pachyderm Party, some other new releases and a die from a previous release at Lil' Inker Designs! I started by stamping the elephant onto a panel that I die cut from the Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Rectangles set featuring the new sizes. I then die cut two speech bubbles from the Speech Bubbles 2 set and stamped a greeting from the Just Sayin' Stamps and one from Pachyderm Party. I adhered these onto a woodgrain panel that I die cut from Stitched Mats: Long and Skinny Rectangles. This card came together so quickly!

Check out the Lil' Inker Designs Store as all of the new products are available!

LID:: April Monthly Meet Up Challenge

Another challenge is up at Lil' Inker Designs! And ANYTHING GOES as long as you feature cute and fabulous LID products! There is a ton to choose from!

My card features some oldies but goodies. I wanted to create a project with an Art Deco feel, as I've been reading a few books featuring the decades where that style was popular. The card was so simple to make, and could be switched up with colors or different stamps from the sets to create many different styles!

I die cut the connected circles strip from the Connected Circles Die and stamped the corresponding scalloped pattern from the Spot On Stamp Set in black. I then adhered it to a card base and stamped a bold sentiment from the same set. I finished the card with a double bow made out of May Arts Black Silk Ribbon in 1/8". So easy!

Please check the Lil' Inker Design Blog for all the challenge details! Can't wait to see what you come up with...it will be amazing!
