The Ribbon Resource:: Halloween Hop

Halloween is such a fun time of year! There are so many cute products out there to decorate and craft with, and The Ribbon Resource has some perfect accessories for you! Welcome to The Ribbon Resource Halloween Hop! You should have arrived from Jennifer Davey's Blog if you are following the Hop, otherwise you can start at The Ribbon Resource!

I made three cards for the Hop, all featuring the cut-out ribbon available at the store, and all perfectly designed for Halloween. The first card started with a white cardstock base that had been stamped with a Halloween Sentiment. I then ran a line of 1/4" Black Adhesive Scalloped Border Ribbon on the bottom third, and adhered a strip of the 3/4" Pumpkin Cut-outs. I finished the card with some "grass", a tied bow from the 1/8" silk ribbon in Moss.

The next card started with a purple cardstock base and I stamped a cute sentiment in black ink. I added a row of the 1/4" Black Adhesive Scalloped Border Ribbon and adhered a line of the super cute 3/4" Ghost Cut-outs. I finished wiht a black 1/8" silk bow.

My last card is one to give to your honey on Halloween. I started with a white cardbase that had been stamped with a punny sentiment. I added a single 1.25" red Sequin Adhesive Heart and then adhered a line of the 3/4" black Bat Cut-outs.

That's it for me! Make sure to leave a comment here and at The Ribbon Resource Blog for your chance to win one of two $20 gift cards to The Ribbon Resource! The Ribbon Resource is a perfect place to shop for ribbon for card makers, as they offer your favorite May Arts Ribbon and trims in small bundles!

LID:: October 2015 Release:: Day 3

Welcome back to the third and final day of the Lil' Inker Designs October Release! As usual, we have a fabulous hop for you featuring innovative stamps and dies, I hope you enjoyed this amazing release! You should have arrived from Amy Kolling's Blog!

I have three more holiday cards today to show you. The first I just love. I started with a white card base matted in a textured bright blue paper. I then die cut the beautiful Merry & Bright Holiday Greeting Die from a white panel and adhered it over the blue paper. I finished the card with a bow from May Arts Sheer Ribbon in Silver.

My next card features the coordinating Ornamental Christmas Stamp Set and Ornamental Christmas Dies. These two new release items will be super handy when it comes to making quick holiday cards! I adhered a patterned paper panel to a white card base and looped some May Arts Burlap String onto the card. I topped this embellishment with a gold sentiment star stamped from Ornamental Christmas Stamp Set with and die cut from the Ornamental Christmas Dies. So easy!

My last card also features some coordinating products (that could be stand-alone as well)! I started by stamping a sentiment from All the Christmas You'll Need Stamp Set in silver onto a die cut ornament from Oh My Ornaments Dies. I then die cut a few snowflakes from the beautiful Snowflake Dies and the ornament topper from the Oh My Ornaments Dies from silver cardstock and adhered these all to a piece of patterned paper. I finished by affixing this to a card base and stamping the ornament string from All the Christmas You'll Need Stamp Set.

LID:: October 2015 Release:: Day 2

Welcome back to the second day of the Lil' Inker Designs October Release! As usual, we have a fabulous hop for you featuring innovative stamps and dies! You should have arrived from Sarah Jay's Blog!

I went clean and simple again with my first card, but honestly, this Oh Deer Stamp Set is so amazing I wanted to let it shine! I die cut a square from Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Squares and stamped and colored the deer with colored pencils. I then added the stamped sentiment. I finished the card with another mat in red cardstock cut from Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Squares and adhered the finished artwork to a kraft cardstock base.

My second card today features a really neat and innovative holiday die set being released this month: Christmas Word Tag Die Trio, but I chose to feature it in an un-holiday fashion. I love getting multiple uses out of one die set, and this really fits the bill! (Think of using the HOPE word for Cancer cards, or the JOY word on baby cards!) I started by adhering a die cut sunburst from our Wrapper's Delight: Sunburst Die and then die cut the word WISH from the Christmas Word Tag Die Trio. Before adhering it to the built in sentiment panel on the Wrapper's Delight: Sunburst Die, I trimmed off the little loop tag. I die cut a pole from silver with the Sentiment Flag Additions Set and a banner from the Original Sentiment Flag Die which had stamped with a sentiment from the Quick Notes Stamp Set.

My third project today features an unbelievably cute Santa made from the new Make A Santa Die Cut Bundle.

This Make A Santa Die Cut Bundle was designed to coordinate with the Triangle Treat Holder Die (which is so cute in itself!) but I fashioned a Santa face onto the Stitched Gift & Note Card Holder Die for a little something different. It was so easy and simple to assemble! I finished the gift card holder with a cute coordinating sentiment from the Make A Santa Die Cut Bundle.

LID:: October 2015 Release:: Day 1

It's the first day of the Lil' Inker Designs October Release and the new products make me so giddy! I love the new products, and I am pretty sure that you will too. As usual, we have a fabulous hop for you featuring innovative stamps and dies! You should have arrived from Chrissy Larson's Blog!

I have two projects to show you today! My first card features the new Leaf Love Dies and coordinating Leafy Greetings Stamp Set, as well as a release from last month, the Wrappers Delight: Lattice Die. I really wanted to bring out the fall, rustic theme on this card. I went with a kraft card base and die cut a few leaves in fall colors. I adhered the leaves over the top of a die cut the Wrappers Delight: Lattice Die. For the sentiment, I stamped a beautiful greeting from the Leafy Greetings Stamp Set onto the top leaf and curled all of the edges. I finished the card with some Line and Gold Burlap String from May Arts. I adore the texture and the subtle hues on the card, perfect for fall.

My next card features the revised Nuts About You Stamp Set and Acorn Dies! I created a clean and simple, punny birthday card by adhering a kraft tag (from the Anytime Tags 2 Die Set) tied with May Arts Silk Ribbon to a white card base. I then stamped a sentiment from Nuts About You Stamp Set and finished with the three different sized acorns you can get from the Acorn Dies. I added a bit of texture to their caps with the Quilted Stitched Pattern Die.

CardMaker Magazine Fall Blog Hop

Fall is such a wonderful time of year to be the inspiration for crafty projects! I'm so excited to be participating in the CardMaker Magazine Fall Blog Hop, featuring Lil' Inker Designs!

If you are following the hop, you should have arrived from The CardMaker Magazine Blog.

My clean and simple, fall colors inspired card started with a white cardstock base that has been embossed with the Cover-up Die: Stitched Woodgrain. I really enjoy how the stitching in this die is a classic Lil' Inker Designs signature, but also is something that you can't find anywhere else! I then die cut a sentiment flag from Flags & Tags Dies, and stamped a simple sentiment in dark brown ink from the Sketched Flowers Stamp Set. The highlight of the card is a tree made from Lil' Inker Designs new release Leaf Love Die Set (stay tuned for the this product to be released and featured on the Lil' Inker Designs October New Release Blog Hop starting on October 8th!) I die cut one of the leaves from shimmery, copper colored cardstock and then covered the bottom with chocolate cardstock to form the trunk of the tree. I added some oak leaves die cut from the newly revised Acorn Die Set. I finished the card by adhering the sentiment panel and tree with foam adhesive.
As a sponsor of this hop, Lil' Inkers Designs has up for grabs a great gift certificate! Please check out the CardMaker Magazine Blog for full hop details and hop list.

Your next stop on the hop is: Chitra Nair!

LID:: September Monthly Meet-up Challenge

Lil' Inkers Designs has a monthly challenge-did you know? The Monthly Meetup Challenge! Create a card or project using Lil' Inker Design products and the colors of fall and link up over at the Lil' Inker Designs Blog. This month there is a corresponding sale too!

My card features the sale item, the Cover Up: Leaf Pattern Die. Instead of die cutting the leaves, I embossed a piece of decorative paper, sanded the raised areas and then distressed inked over the top. I adhered this panel to a card base, then added a sentiment from Greetings and Salutations Stamps that had been stamped onto a die cut label from the So Thankful Label Die and then I added the extra detail of the stamped label image from the So Thankful Stamp Set. I finished the card by going old school and added two brads.

Stop on over at the Lil' Inker Designs Blog for more details on the Monthly Meetup Challenge!

LID:: September 2015 New Release:: Day 3

Welcome back to the third and final day of the Lil' Inker Designs September Release! As usual, we have a fabulous hop for you featuring innovative stamps and dies, I hope you enjoyed this amazing release! You should have arrived from Lisa Henke's Blog!

I really wanted to showcase a rustic, fall theme with this first card. I started with a sand card base with inked edges and embossed a woodgrain pattern from Lil' Inker Designs Cover-Up Die: Stitched Woodgrain. I then die cut a simple, elegant pumpkin and stem from the new Seen On Halloween Dies and inked the edges. I added the extra detail of the stitched ribs from this set as well, what a cool feature! Before adhering the pumpkin to the card base, I used an elegant, perfectly sized sentiment from Seen On Halloween Stamps. Finally, I adhered the pumpkin to the card base and finished with a bow from made from May Arts Natural Burlap String.

My last project of this release switches styles with a bright, fun and clean Halloween Card using the fun Here for the Boos Stamp Set, Seen On Halloween Dies and Pumpkin Faces Dies.

I decided to make the most use out of the negative die left behind when die cutting the pumpkin from the first card, using the Seen On Halloween Dies. I simply cleaned it up by running the piece through my die cutting machine again, framing it with Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Mats: Squares. I then created a card base using the Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Mats: Squares again and stamped a bold sentiment from Here for the Boos Stamp Set. I adhered the pumpkin frame to the card base and finished with a cute jack-o-lantern face die cut from the Pumpkin Faces Die Set.

LID:: September 2015 New Release:: Day 2

Welcome back to the second day of the Lil' Inker Designs September Release! As usual, we have a fabulous hop for you featuring innovative stamps and dies! You should have arrived from Laura William's Blog!

My first card features the wickedly awesome and super fun stamp set Boo & Faces 2, along with previously released products. I started with a yellow card base and added a panel from Lil' Inker Designs Ombre' Stripes Paper Pad, as well as a black strip of cardstock. I then created and stamped a sentiment from a few stamps from Boo & Faces 2 and die cut a speech bubble from Speech Bubbles 2 Die Set and adhered it to the card. I think it is great this stamp set could be used year round, this card is going to my co-worker who is heading out for a two-week vacation!

My second card features the the super cute Pumpkin Faces Die Set and Boo! Word Die. Aren't they super cute?!

For this card, I die cut the Boo! Word Die from an orange cardstock card front. Without removing the die cut words, I adhered a few strips of washi tape on the back of the card to secure it in place. I then ran the card front through my die cutting machine again, this time using a super cute jack-o-lantern face die from the Pumpkin Faces Die Set. These pieces I did remove, for a see-through effect. I finished the card with a strip of coordinating washi tape and two black enamel dots to highlight the cute jack-o-lantern eyes.

Here's a close-up of the card front:
