Polka Dot Thanks

Polka Dots, Polka Dots, you have my heart!
I just adore the Polka Dot Cover Plate for the Tie the Knot Bundle from the One Plus One Collection -the next release from Catherine Pooler Designs. One Plus One is about love and family...it features Catherine Pooler Designs' first bundle of baby card products and lots of wedding and anniversary sentiments! As always, there are a few bundles to choose from too. The collection will be available Wednesday, June 22nd at 9am EST (Early ordering for StampNation Members started today!!)

This card was super simple to make. I started with a card base made from Ultra Smooth White Cardstock, and then also cut a panel with the Polka Dot Cover Plate, adhering it to the card base after trimming it down ever so slightly. I filled each row of dots with a different color of Nuvo Drops! I've seen many of my talented brand ambassadors do amazing things with this cover plate too, by affixing each dot back into place after coloring it, which is another option.

I love this technique, because of the various ways that the Nuvo Drops dry in each of the holes made from the Polka Dot Cover Plate. As well as the glossy nature of the Nuvo Drops-makes for a pretty effect! This would also look amazing with the Jewel Nuvo Drops, or the Glitter Nuvo Drops as well. There are many Nuvo Drops available at Catherine Pooler Designs! After the drops dried (maybe an hour?) I die cut a circle from White Cardstock with the Circle Dies, die cut "thanks" from the Happy Thank Word Dies, covered the die cut with Midnight Ink, and adhered that to the circle, which was then adhered to the card base with dimensional adhesive. Such a fun and playful card, in my opinion! I think this would work with happy birthday sentiments, and many other word dies as well.

An Anniversary Chair Pair

Oh, the many cozy little scenes you can create with items from the One Plus One Collection -the next release from Catherine Pooler Designs. One Plus One is about love and family...it features Catherine Pooler Designs' first bundle of baby card products and lots of wedding and anniversary sentiments! As always, there are a few bundles to choose from too. I made this anniversary card, one of the first interior scene cards I've done, and I love it! I started with a card base and panel made from Ultra Smooth White Cardstock. I covered the panel with Skylight Ink, then ran it through my die cutting machine with the fun, new Polka Dot Cover Plate, then stamped the panel with a previously released background stamp called Kaleidoscope for a wallpaper look. I stamped and die cut the pair of chairs from His and Hers using Icing on the Cake for the big chair, and Rose Petals for the dainty chair, die cutting them with the coordinating His and Hers Die Set. I also created a little frame to hang on the wall (used embroidery floss). I die cut the smallest square from Stitched Squares Dies, adhering a heart from His and Hers, and then that was adhered to a gold colored scalloped frame from the new Scalloped Frame Dies. The and are meant to coordinate perfectly with each other!

I finished the card with a few black "grounding" lines and a sentiment stamped in Midnight Ink from His and Hers Stamp Set. The His and Hers Stamp Set and coordinating Dies are truly a must have for their versatility!

Bringing the Cheer Challenge: Week 3

I hope that you've been able to join Kelly, Amy and me every Sunday in July to bring some holiday cheer with the Bringing the Cheer Challenge! For Week Three, we are inviting you to create a holiday project based on the inspiration photo in our graphic.

For my holiday card today, I took a literal approach to the photo and created my own plate of cookies! I stamped, die cut and embellished cookies from Catherine Pooler Design's Christmas Cookies Stamp and Sugar Cookies Dies set. Eucalyptus, Daydream, Seafoam, Royal Treatment and Peppermint Scrub, then inked the edge of each cookie with Shea Butter.

I lightly colored in the tree, bird and angel with the matching ink. I added some white gel pen details and Nuvo Drop accents to each cookie as well. I embossed and die cut the plate from the Love Connection Dies. The plate of cookies was adhered to a square-ish card base made from light blue cardstock. I finished the card with a stamped the sentiment from Christmas Cookies stamped in Aquatini.

A Watermelon Shaker

This card here really is my most favorite card that I made using products from the One Plus One Collection-the next release from Catherine Pooler Designs! I made a lot of cards, yesterday's was one of my favorites as well, but with a collection this fun, the ideas kept coming!

The One Plus One Collection is about love and family...it features Catherine Pooler Designs' first bundle of baby card products and lots of wedding and anniversary stamps! As always, there are a few bundles to choose from too. When I saw the two-toned green striped patterned paper from the A Tisket, A Tasket Patterned Paper Pack, I pictured watermelon rinds, so I had to make a watermelon shaker, of course! My card base is Ultra Smooth White Cardstock. I trimmed down the striped paper so a small frame of white shows. Before adhering to the card base, I die cut a portion out with the new Scalloped Frame Dies, also die cutting a frame from the Scalloped Frame Dies in White Cardstock. On a panel cut to the same size as the scallop, I ink blended Be Mine and  Party Dress, then splattered some water onto it, resembling the fleshy fruit of a watermelon.

I adhered the patterned paper onto the card base, then placed the pink panel, and then adhered acetate to the back of the white scalloped frame, along with some dimensional adhesive. Before placing the frame onto the card, I filled the shaker area with sequins from Motor City Sequin Mix...to resemble watermelon seeds! I finished the card with thee perfect sentiment from Magnetic Messages Stamp Set stamped in Midnight Ink.

I am so happy with how this turned out, I truly made my vision come to life with picturing a watermelon, and I love that I was able to make it a shaker card too!
