Criss Cross Rays

It is early ordering day for StampNation Members for Catherine Pooler Designs' newest release, April Showers Bring collection! This collection will be releasing to the public tomorrow, Wednesday, April 14th at 9am EST.

This little hedgie from the Puddle Play Stamp Set is too cute for words. I stamped in Midnight Ink and then die cut him and the puddle from the coordinating Puddle Plays Dies and used a Blending Brush to apply two bases of color, Icing on the Cake for the hedgehog and Serenade for the umbrella. The hedgie and umbrella were adhered to an Ultra Smooth White Cardstock base with dimensional adhesive over the puddle, and then I stamped a sentiment from Puddle Play. 

The star of the show on this card is the Sunburst Strips Cover Plate Die. I ran the plate through my die cut machine using an embossing plate instead of a cutting plate, and then cut the rays in two sections. I applied an ink blend of Fiesta Blue and Cummerbund inks to the larger panel and Catching Rays and Limencello inks to the other. I then splattered the panels with After Dark IzInk and adhered the rays to the card in a criss cross fashion.

Rainy Day Slimline

 

We are getting closer to release day of Catherine Pooler Designs' newest release, April Showers Bring collection! This collection will be releasing Wednesday, April 14th at 9am EST (early ordering for StampNation Members-Tuesday the 13th!)

My slimline creation today features the three cute critters from the Puddle Play Stamp Set. I used the Doodle Window Slimline Die to cut out a panel from Ultra Smooth White Cardstock with three windows to feature the critters. I splattered some black onto the card front with . Onto a slimline card base, I stamped the bear, fox and hedgehog to peek out from each of the circles in Midnight Ink. I used Copic Markers to color behind each critter and also add a touch of color to the cheeks and umbrellas and hat. 

I finished the card with a sentiment from Puddle Play Stamp Set that was white heat embossed onto a black sentiment strip. Don't those puddle jumper critters fit the windows perfectly?

Garden Hat

I went a bit rogue today and am sharing something other than a card using products from Catherine Pooler Designs' newest release, April Showers Bring collection. This collection will be releasing Wednesday, April 14th at 9am EST (early ordering for StampNation Members-Tuesday the 13th!)

I dragged my son to a nursery the other day, he wasn't thrilled to be going but when we walked through the doors he saw the succulent display and immediately was drawn to this cactus. I decided to surprise him with it, and of course, had to create something cute to stick in its container! 

When I saw the cute fox from the Puddle Play Stamp Set, I pictured her in a straw garden hat instead of a rain hat, so I stamped the image out, die cut it with the coordinating Puddle Play Dies and colored the image in with a mix of coloring materials (Icing on the Cake ink, Copics, White Gel Pen and colored pencils). I created my own flower, fussy cut it out and adhered it onto the garden hat.

To create the plaque itself, I die cut a frame from the Scallop Frame Dies. I sandwiched a toothpick between the frame and a cardstock square panel that I had white heat embossed a sentiment from the Whimsical Bloom Stamp Set and used a mixture of liquid adhesive and strong double sided tape to adhere the panels together. I tucked in a grounding element for the fox made with the graphic element from the Puddle Play Stamp Set stamped in Shea Butter and Skylight inks.

I can't wait to reproduce this garden plaque to give as teacher gifts...there are many annuals that will be available soon! Sending a Little Sunshine

Not every day can be a sunny day but the April Showers Bring collection from Catherine Pooler Designs reminds us we can "weather it together"! The collection will be releasing Wednesday, April 14th at 9am EST (early ordering for StampNation Members-Tuesday the 13th!)

Today I am featuring the delightfully over sized Sunburst Strips Cover Plate Die that is part of the Rainy Days Extra Bundle. This cover plate allows for so many different techniques...it is sized at 4 3/4" x 6" for lots of options in your card designs! I die cut an Ultra Smooth White Cardstock panel with the Sunburst Strips Cover Plate Die and with the Blending Brushes, covered each section with the following ink colors for a soft sun ray look: Pucker Up, Samba, Chiffon, and Hot Tub.

I then splattered the rays with a bit of water and some After Dark IzInk. Love the look of this combination! I adhered the rays to a card base, stamping a sentiment from the April Showers Stamp Set in Midnight. I finished the card with a strip of my all time favorite and most used patterned paper pack, Black Tie Gala.

With the Sunburst Strips Cover Plate being slightly larger than an A2 card size, it offers the ability to use the die on a slimline card too, and can be used both vertically and horizontally.
