December Birthdays
It's my opinion that persons born in the last month of the year have it rough. (My little boy was welcomed into this world one day before Christmas). Here are a few things I've learned: Wrap birthday presents in birthday wrapping paper and Christmas presents in holiday paper. It's important to have a birthday cake on the 24th and sing happy birthday, no matter how busy you are this day. My most favorite holiday song will forever be Happy Birthday.
When I saw this gorgeous pointsettia image from Jane's Doodles, our awesome sponser this week for the CAS-Tastic Wednesday Challenge, I knew I was going to create a birthday card. Something special for those December birthday people. Super simple to create-I just printed it twice in colored ink, added filler color lightly with blender pens, cut and layered and added some gems in the center.
This weeks challenge is to be inspired by a card from one of the design team members:
Angie
Deb
Maylee
Agata
You won't want to miss this challenge, as Jane has offered up some of her digital images and a set of her handmade buttons to one random participant!
***Please check my other post today featuring an altered item using the newest sets from Practicing Creativity Designs! They are being released tomorrow, August 5th!***

PS: Love your coloring here!
Oh my! This is beautiful! The coloring is stunning! I agree about your thoughts on holiday birthdays. I have a lot of family b-days in December and some to include Christmas Eve. Mine falls on Valentine's Day! Not a big Holiday to some, but my Mom always made it special for me. My hubby thinks he gets off easy...ha

What fun!!! Love all the white, or very vanilla, another great coloring job.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! The simplicity of the layout really show cases the beautiful flower.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about people with December birthdays. My brother was born on 12-23 and came home from the hospital on Christmas day. (I had just started learning about the Bible and thought he was baby Jesus but that is a story for another time....) My husband was born on 12-29. We always try to take the time to celebrate their birthdays in the midst of the Holiday craziness.
WOW!!! What a flower! Just awesome Karen!
ReplyDeleteKaren,
ReplyDeleteThis is simply stunning...my niece is on the 23rd...and absolutely must, must, must separate the birthday and christmas gifts with the appropriate paper!!!

ReplyDeleteI totally understand about the Christmas time BDay. My son's bithday is 11 days after Christmas. I run around like a mad person trying to get all evidence of tree and decorations gone and bithday stuff got before his special day.
This is a stunning pointsettia card, Karen! I love the CAS style and all the layers!
ReplyDeleteSooo elegant! I am a December babe myself, as is my daughter, so I can relate :>)
