The Dog Ate It

Seriously. The dog ate it. He ate the whole batch of bread. I made two-banana bread and cranberry orange bread and he ate all but one mini loaf that I had wrapped up for this project and the one loaf we ate while it was still warm. All in one afternoon while the grown ups were at work and the boys were at school. Lesson learned: wrap your baked goods before leaving the house.

May Arts had a fabulous Show Us Your Plaid Challenge to create a project using their ribbon and plaid. I made a bread cozy! I started by cutting a piece of felt to 2 1/2-3 inches wide and double stitched the edges with the string. I attached a handmade plaid button to one end and cut an opening on the other. To go with my bread cozy, I made tied a handmade tag with the string in a big bow and to identify what kind of bread it is. My card features the same plaid paper wrapped with the red string.  (The design was based off of Amy Heller's 6th Day of Christmas Challenge sketch.)

If you have a spare minute, hop on over there to May Arts and leave a comment! I hear that their is a giveaway too! My mom (a super talented lady who should have a blog of her own but doesn't), even participated! She made these cute hand towels.

  6. Wow dogs are so funny about our goodies. Last year I made cookie's for each of my 3 kids classrooms. I had them packaged up and divided on my dining room table in 3 bags ready to go for in the morning the kids just took their bags and were off. Well what do you know the next morning my hubby called me down. One of the bags was tipped over and cookie pouches were hidden all over my house. I counted them and couldn't account for like 2 or 3. Don't ya know my dog hid them behind pillows on my couch, under her dog bed, under my daughter's desk in her room. We seriously found those last missing one's like 3 months later. What stinkers. Gotta love them though. LOL

  28. Love your bread wrap and the card, the towels are amazing, too!

I'm surprised the dog didn't go for the wrapped one! Must be a smaller dog - my black lab (from years ago) would have eaten them all - aluminum foil and all! Green felt? No problem!

    Hugs!!
