Sweet Sixteen
Do you remember the days? Freedom. Ahh, the freedom of having a license to drive. Running to the grocery store for a much needed box of baking soda in the family station wagon was so very exciting. Carting five other students to school was no big deal. Feeling like you could go anywhere or do anything at the drop of a hat. Ahh, the freedom. Of course, this was back in the day before gas was $4 a gallon...
The Happily Ever Challenged Challenge is all about the sweet sixteen. Ted has challenged us to make a birthday card using purple and green and a few other requirements as well. The HEC challenges are some of my favorite, they really make me think and stretch my creativity.
Supplies Used:
Cardstock: (Naturals White, Purple, Green) SU
Stamps: (Modern Basics) PTI
Ink: (Green, Purple) SU, (Fresh Snow) PTI
Other: (Button, Thread)
another fabulour card Karen. Love the colors and the background you created.

ReplyDeleteI think Maile's set is a good one for your collection. I wouldn't think purple and green would work, but this is lovely.

Karen, this card is fabulous! I love the 'chalkiness'(is that a word?)of the white butterflies. And the green leaves at the bottom give such a wonderful pop of vibrant color! I love this stamp set, but haven't really had the inspiration to use it that much. I have to say that the cards you have made with it have definately isspired me, though!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant how you've used one set of stamps to make background and the leaves, they have a retro feel to them :)

ReplyDeleteKaren I love the colors and how you have tied the shape of the leaves into the pattern. Very nice! I got your comment about State, another Wolfpacker yay! When did you graduate? you being a graphic designer and me and architect I was wondering if perhaps our paths crossed back in the days of design school. :) I graduated in 2001 and then again in 2002 after doing the 5th year program. I miss it sometimes too.
