Canvas Bird




Welcome to the blog hop featuring Sketch Challenge 89 and the release of Everyday Blessings from Skipping Stones Design! Amy's blog was the stop before mine-her designs always knock my socks off!


This set is beautiful, my friends! I chose to work with the large outlined bird for my card by first stamping him onto some canvas and then coloring in with Copics. (Can someone please remind me who showcased this technique so I can give proper credit where credit it due?! I love the technique!) The canvas was then adhered to subtle patterned paper and then to the card base. A bit of twine and a sentiment stamped tag completed the ensemble.

    Love, love, love this card. Love the simplicity of the lo, and the textures of the materials. Copics on canvas is new to me, so I really appreciate that tip.

    Fabulous card Karen. I colored on canvas a couple months back but I didn't use Copics. I used a blender pen and distress inks. Your card is fabulous. :-)

    I don't think I can hold out from buying Skipping Stones stamps much longer. I LOVE that bird image and your colouring on the canvas is gorgeous!

    This is so Karen! The twine and the distressed edges of the canvas are rustic and fab!

    Could the copics on canvas be one of Jennifer McGuire's techniques?

    The canvas surface works so well with the stamps..love your image of bird..the browny really makes a perfect mono color with while..GREAT!!!
