Happy Times Three
1. Happy that the heavy rain outside hasn't turned over to snow yet. Hoping that it holds out until at least mid-October. Please, Mr. Weatherman?
2. Happy that I'll get to spend time with my two sisters, my brother-and-law and my sweet baby nephew soon, very soon. Gotta be honest, hoping that the stranger anxiety that the little boy is starting to experience might be a little bit lessened (since I kind of look and sound like his mama?) and he'll let me hold him as much as he can stand.
3. Happy that the husband volunteered to take the boys so I could have some "quiet time" this morning. Quiet time equals productive time.
I pulled out my favorite background stamp at this moment, Vintage Notepad, and created a clean and simple masculine card for the Market Street Stamps Paint the Town Color Challenge (hah! that's a neat name!) I often times wonder how many masculine cards are rescued from the trash from crafty spouses, since women seem to appreciate hand-made paper goods more then men...
I love to make cards without patterned paper too, it is challenging but I usually like the end result. Making your own patterned paper is fufilling, I wish I could design a line of patterned paper off of making my own with inks and such. This card uses no patterned paper which is perfect for the Wee Memories Challenge.
Supplies:
Cardstock: (Ivory) Office Max
Stamps: (Vintage Notepad, Celebrate Cake) Market Street Stamps
Ink: (Marigold Morning, More Mustard, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip Pigment) SU
Other: (Marker) Copic

ReplyDeleteNow don't say that "S" word again as I am hoping it holds off until at least Christmas Eve.
I had to check where you live to see why you have rain and the possibility of snow thing going on! I'm here in sunny California and we're having the most beautiful fall day. Fall never lasts long enough. But ... your inside time is our treat - love your card!
ReplyDeleteSooo fun Karen, and so you! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love that you included three happy things... reading this book about Happiness and it talks about how if you think you're happy then you are... so you're way on track. I'm sure your nephew will figure out you're not his mama, but I'm sure that twin energy will let you get some extra snuggles in. Fabulous masculine card.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your nephew :) and your card is terrific, love your use of your favorite background stamp!
