(Warning: The following story has nothing to do with the card above, but I wanted to write it down so I could remember it...plus, I happen to think it is darn cute!)
My youngest boy, Chase, is in kindergarten. I've been taking him to the dentist since he was two, so he's not afraid of the lights, hygienists, doctors, tools, etc. At his check-up today for cleaning, the hygienist thought he would have spelling homework. With a sharp tool in his mouth, my child shook his head no promptly! She countered with saying that he probably already knew how to spell some words and removed the instrument in case he wanted to answer. She asked him if he could spell "me." This time he shook his head yes and belted out the letters C-H-A-S-E as proud as proud could be! Sure enough, he spelled "me"!
A new challenge is up on the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog! Create a clean and simple Thank You card and upload it to the gallery for a chance to win a gift certificate to Ellen Hutson and a Guest Design Spot at CAS-ual Fridays!
What a perfect opportunity for me to ink up the lovely blooms in CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Truth Is and one of the many fabulous sentiments from Big Thanks. I inked up the flowers, colored in the petals with copics and then drew longer stems so that I could add a few pieces of patterned paper to ground the image.
Taking into heart some of the suggestions posted in the comments field of my Season's Givings post, I'm going to attempt offering a design tip on many of my projects to assist new or veteran stampers alike...obvious to some, not so to others.
Today's tip: Some patterned papers have really busy designs-too busy for clean and simple card makers- so choose a pattern that you like but use it in small portions, such as the one inch by 4.25 inch strip here.
I look forward to viewing your clean and simple Thank You creations in the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge gallery this week!

ReplyDeleteYour story is precious!
ReplyDeleteYour design is spectacular!
Design Tips are always nice. I know when I think about tutorials and I think that is obvious or been done...I have readers that are new and might not have known that or seen that technique or tip yet. I get emails of thanks or further questions and then I am delighted to know it was actually helpful to someone.
Can you give me a tip on how to speed up my crafty time. Goodness I get lost in the design, but love it.
Have a good weekend!
Stunning quest there. What occurred after? Thanks!
