It's not too often that I listen to the radio and actually hear the song. When this one came on the other day, I had tears rollin' down my cheeks before it was even finished. It hit a chord with me, like he was explaining everything right now in my life-from both dies of the song (although the situations weren't the same). I'll share the chorus with you: "(They don't understand.) Everybody's busy with their own situation. Everybody's lost in their own little world. Bottled up, hurry it up try to make a dream come true. (They don't understand.) Everybody's living like there ain't no tomorrow. Maybe we should stop and take a little time. 'Cause you never really know what your neighbor's going through. (They don't understand.)
Stopping in today with two cards I made using the absolutely gorgeous February Artful Delight Card Kit. Dreamy it is! You can check out the contents here.
And here's this month's Artful Delight Card Sketch, that you can create a project for and link up too, for your chance to win a kit of choice! (Scrapbook or card kit, they are both equally awesome.) Both my cards followed the sketch with two different results. (The plate to make the impression on the card base of the first card and the May Arts Burlap String used on both cards, along with the sentiment on the second, are the only items NOT in the kit!)
Today's Tip: Use leftovers! I cut out the inside of the postage stamp sticker to make a frame and used the unused backing to mount the butterfly sticker so that I could fold his wings for some dimension on my card.
Today's Question: When you have multiple cards per post, do you share your favorite first or last? I always share my favorite first, but then wonder if it is the last card that people think about when they click to another blog...
Your post made me want to give you a hug Karen. So here's a hug first of all *hugs*.
ReplyDeleteRight, onto the cards! They are both awesome, I think the first one is my favourite!! I really love the pop of green from the sentiment.
When I have several cards I usually split them into separate posts, but when they are all in one post I share them in the order in which they were made. That's just my organised/logical brain I guess!
Both are very pretty....love the two tone butterfly!! I usually do separte posts for my cards, and sometimes post 3 times a day!!! I thne wonder if my first posts get seen......and, so much truth to that song...have a nice day!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - I am sitting here with tears on my face from that song - it is SO sad but it's so true.
ReplyDeletegorgeous cards...
ReplyDeleteKaren, my tears are flowing here as well. I'd never heard the song and did a youtube search and wow...I can so relate to that song.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are superb! The first one is my favorite. I think the inked edges really pull it together. I love how you used the inside of the frame on the second one..so clever!
I usually post each card separately and generally post my favorite first.
Hugs coming your way Karen. S0me songs really hit home don't they and others have nothing to do with you but still bring the tears. The one about the shoes for the mom at Christmas gets me EVERY time! Your cards are gorgeous as always. The first one is my fav too ;)
ReplyDeleteI would have a difficult time chasing between these cards. Both are so pretty!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful and meaningful song Karen. Both of your cards are fabulous. Great colours.
ReplyDeleteLove your tip for using scraps, Karen - I need to do that more often! Both cards are really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of both of these beautiful cards, Karen.
ReplyDeleteWonderful ideas. My favorite stash of paper is my leftover pile. I always find fun stuff to work with and your cards are the perfect use for them. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteLove 'em. Great take on the sketch.
ReplyDeleteBe blessed, Beckie
Such beautiful cards - I always enjoy looking at your cards. I especially love the black horizontal strips on your second card - great touch!! Hmm, to answer your question - I guess I never really thought about the order of precedence if two cards are presented in a post. Probably because I never show more than one myself. ;) if I did, I would probably save my favorite for the end - save the best for last, you know? :)
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty cards! :)
ReplyDeleteP/s: I think you should put your fave first because many people skim so if something catches their eye, they have a tendency to want to read more about it.
delightful cards Karen!
ReplyDeleteThank You~
Gorgeous cards Karen!
ReplyDeleteMy fav is your first card ... love the red/green (real green)/kraft combo, and the sticker letters, and the pattern paper strip! Interesting question. When I have more than one card in a post I like to post the better ones last. I guess I don't want people to be reading a post and then be disappointed as they go ... it's always nice to see improvement I think. But then, your favorite doesn't show up in a reader, so that's a downside.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! I haven't had a chane to play with this kit yet.
ReplyDeleteWhen I have multiple cards in one post I don't worry about the order. Unless some of the cards are "supporting" cards, if that makes sense!
fantastic ... just love it.
ReplyDeletethanks for the hop and the chance

FABULOUS cards, Karen!! And I love the tips you've been sharing within your posts!! FUN!! I usually post my favorite card first too!!
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous but very different cards from the same sketch. The first one is my favorite, too. The frame shape is gorgeous, and I love the contrast of the green letter stickers with the neutrals and red accents.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are gorgeous Karen!!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely your fave first!!!!
hugs...xoxo
beautiful cards :)
ReplyDeletei just post whichever one i grab first! lol
Oh, Karen! It breaks my heart to think of you sad and hurting! I hope things are getting better and that you're finding some peace. Big, big hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are stunning as always and as for your question I always put my favourite card first. I want to catch people's eye in the blog list!
