Orange Pants & Blue Outlines
Papertrey Ink is celebrating nine years and they have a challenge going on to create something inspired by a piece of clothing our an outfit. My closet isn't at all interesting, so I searched online and found some really fun pants.
I started by embossing a white cardstock base with the PTI Sunshine Impression Plate and then adhered a watercolored panel to it. The watercolored panel was a reject from another card that didn't work out, I had too many large water splotches. I learned from Kathy's Day4 Daily Color Challenge Video to save rejects and repurpose them! I then adhered a Hawaiian Shores Panel that was cut from PTI's Spiral Notebook Page Die and decorated with some washi tape and a sentiment panel stamped with a greeting from Lovely Layers.
I also am participating in Papertrey's Ink Day 1 Anniversary Celebrations with a card inspired by Erin Lincoln's Color Scheme.
I started by stamping the lovely blooms from In Bloom in kraft ink onto a white panel. I then colored the blooms and leaves in colored pencil. I added a light blue outline outside the images, a tip I learned from Kathy's Day 5 Video in her 30 Day Color Challenge Series. I erased any harsh lines to soften the look. This panel was bordered by kraft cardstock impressed with the Woodgrain Impression Plate and strips of Lemon Tart cardstock. I affixed the complete panel onto an Aqua Mist cardstock base and stamped the sentiment and finished the card with a wrapped bow made from May Arts Burlap String.
I really like the felxibilty and creativity stamping with flowers allows. Check out all the entries at Addicted to CAS: Bloom Challenge!
