A "Sympathy" of Peonies

In my opinion, sympathy cards are the most difficult to make, especially when you have to make them on demand. I often times like to make them ahead of time, and just pull a card out when needed. Do you create sympathy cards this way too and avoid the hurt that goes along with them?

I have kind of been in a crafting funk lately...there's been some personal things that I've had to hurdle over and try to overcome and it's been a bit rough. I decided that I really needed to challenge myself and do something outside of my normal, but alas, I couldn't stray too far! 0Outside of my normal was coloring on dark cardstock, staying true to my normal was coloring florals!)

I've been coloring every day for the Daily Marker's 30 Day Coloring Challenge forJuly, just not sharing each day. Today's card was the result on my personal challenge to use up cardstock that've I've had in my stash for close to 10 years. I decided to stamp the Ellen Hutson's Essentials By Ellen Mondo Peony on some deep rose colored cardstock with Sangria ink, and the leaves onto some deep evergreen cardstock in Spruce Ink.

I colored the images with Prismacolor Color Pencils and then fussy cut them, adding a bit of highlight with a white gel pen. The peonies and leaves were mounted to a soft gray card base and then I stamped an older sentiment from Papertrey Ink. To finish the card, I splattered silver paint across the entire card front and added some Studio Katia clear gems.
