I'm an AECP Participant

I started a new and exciting journey! I was accepted in the Altenew Educator Certification Program and I cannot wait to showcase cards I've made to reach the goal of becoming an educator for Altenew. Altenew is one of my most favorite stamp companies, and I'm proud to showcase their products and grow my skills as a cardmaker and eventually an educator.

There are a series of classes that I need to complete along the journey, offered through Altenew Academy. These courses are fantastic, and even after card making for as long as I have, I've learned so many new tips and techniques. The first course I completed was All About Layering 1. With this class, I was reacquainted with my stamping block, remembering to look directly over the top of the image when stamping layers. It definitely is easier to start with the outline image too! For my project, I was inspired to create a freestanding wreath with a small stamp, like one of the projects showcased by the educator, Nicole. I used a leaf from the beautiful Peony Bouquet Stamp Set in shades of blue and aquas from the Cool Summer Night and Sea Shore Crisp Dye Ink mini cute sets. I started with a die cut circle mask and stamped the leaf around with the outline image first, then went back in with the corresponding solid stamp in a lighter color. I added some silver splatters, mounted the panel onto some mint cardstock and finished with a die cut sentiment from Erin Lee Creative's Hello Word Die.

I'll be back shortly today with another project for the second class. I've got to say, they really brought me back to the basics of stamping and how your stamps can work for you. You don't need fancy gadgets, a lot of supplies or experience...just great stamps, inks and passion! I am really excited to show you more cards that I've done for additional classes for Level One of the Altenew Educator Certification Program.
