Ink Blending via Zoom

A couple of weekends ago I attended an Ink Blending Class held via Zoom by the talented Natasha Davies. She went over three unique ways to ink blend. It was a great class to attend, and with all Altenew classes, I learned a few tips and tricks!

One of my favorite techniques that Natasha went over was to create masked, ink blended strips. How clever! I used the Cool Summer Night Collection of dye inks from Altenew for the striped panel, and then accented the card with simple black and white stamping of the Paint-A-Flower Carnations Outline Stamp Set.

I finished the card with a stamped sentiment, also from the Carnations set. What an easy and cool way to add the look of cut cardstock strips with no cardstock!

The first technique taught was how to achieve a seamless ink blended ombre look. I again used the Cool Summer Night Collection, starting in the top right corner of a white cardstock panel. I then splattered the panel with Titanium Izink, then adhered the panel to a card base.

I then accentuated with a silver embossed floral image and leaves from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set and finished the card with a silver die cut sentiment from the Signature Words Die Set.

This last card I shifted my color panel due to the embossed background panel I used (a retired embossing plate from Wplus9). I wanted to pair the industrial chevron look with coral, as I love the color combination of grays and pinks. I used the Rock Collection set of inks to ink blend the embossed background, then accentuated with a stamped image from Vintage Flowers.

I finished the card with a die cut sentiment Signature Words Die Set. Special thanks to Natasha for teaching the class. Not only did a I learn some techniques, I also got the feel of how a zoom tutorial works, and look forward to conducting one myself in the future as part of my Altenew Educator Certification Program!
