Bright Ideas

 The upcoming release from Catherine Pooler Designs celebrates the creative process. The Creative Thinking Release is full of main image stamps that celebrate each stage of the process from the light bulb moment, to the time spent at your desktop and then to your final masterpiece." The release will be available tomorrow, Wednesday, June 9th for general release and right now for Stamp Nation Members. 

I have another card to share for this release made with the Bright Idea Bundle. How clever of the Catherine Pooler Designs team to think of stamps/products for the beginning of the creative process. This stamp set, Bright Days, features so many fun and cute lightbulbs with perfect sayings.

I started my card with a watercolor panel, where I painted a dark room with Juniper Mist and Queen for a Day inks, leaving three areas for Limoncello Ink. I splattered the panel with water and white paint. I then stamped some light bulbs and wires from the Bright Days stamp set in Midnight Ink onto  Ultra Smooth White Cardstock, and die cut them with the corresponding Bright Days Dies. After the watercolor panel was dry, I adhered the lightbulbs to the panel with dimensional adhesive, then stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment, also from  Bright Days. then in a variety of Catherine Pooler inks, used the backside of each cooresponding lightbulb to "color" the lightbulb in. Yellows used were , Chiffon, Tiki Torch, Sauna, Tiara and Catching Rays. I added a sentiment, also from the Bright Days.

The card panel was then adhered to a card base. I tried to mimic the glow of the lights with watercolor, although not too successful I still ended up with a super fun card! I'll be trying this out next time with just an ink blended background.
