An Urban Challenge

 

I'm the first host for the Christmas Challenge series over at StampNation! I thought it would be super fun to recreate one of your past card designs with an urban twist. Below is my original inspiration.

I  recreated the card with an urban twist using items from Catherine Pooler Design's This Christmas Collection, specifically items from the Urban Holiday Bundle. First, I updated the background with a fun and bright pattern from the Decked Out Patterned Paper, die cut from the Scallops & Dots Dies, and mounted the panel onto another pattern from the same pack. I wrapped the panel with Midnight Twine, instead of the homey jute twine. I then added some color and whimsy by stamping, coloring and die cutting the tree from Wrapped and Ready and the corresponding Wrapped and Ready Dies. The card was finished with a die cut sentiment from the Merry Christmas Word Die.

I also did a little modern/urban size update, creating a smaller notecard version. I created a corresponding envelope for the card too, using the Notecard Envelope Die.
