Poppies and a Sneak

Spring is destined to arrive soon, right?...

TiffanyDoodles Challenge this time around is a lovely photo inspiration! I started with a poppy image from the internet, made it really large in my photo editing program and basically superimposed this poppy image from TiffanyDoodles.

Find the rest of the details and link up your creation on Tiffany's blog!

L.O.V.E.

***My guest design card for the Lawnscaping Challenge is here!***

Just four little letters. L.O.V.E. Four little letters holding the future in their hands...

Valentine's Day was created for crafters, wasn't it? According to Wikipedia, it "is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery," and get this... "sending greeting cards (known as "valentines")". Yep, there you have it, physical proof!

TiffanyDoodles is having a Valentine's challenge (all the details found here!). There are some exciting changes to the challenge and even more exciting prizes! For this combo, I started with the card using TiffanyDoodles Love Letters Digital Stamp and Krafty Klouds Digital Paper and hand dyed and wrinkled wide ribbon using May Arts White Silk Ribbon for their Sweet Nothings Challenge. To compliment the card, I altered a cappachino tin (thanks, Amy, for the grand idea) in which I decorated with the same digi stamp and paper. Its wrapped with May Arts Ivory Silk Ribbon done in the same treatment as the card. (This ribbon is nice and wide. I used an iron to un-crinkle the ribbon a bit after it was dry to get the width I desired.)

Inside the tin, I cut out little "cards" using different patterns from the Krafty Klouds Digital Paper and wrote a few notes for my husband.

So, do you hand out little notes of love?

Birds and the Window

There aren't many birds that weather out the Cold Wisconsin Winters. Perhaps their petite little bodies just don't have enough insulation to handle the negative wind chills and piles of snow. Sometimes it does get lonely out there, when all you see is vast areas of white. My heart fills with hope of spring when I happen to notice that first little brave birdie perching upon the bare branches on the tree out my living room window.

I created this window card by first changing the digital bird file to a monotone color, printing him on colored cardstock and then highlighting him with white colored pencils, a white gel pen and then some distress ink. The bird was purposefully printed on the inside of the card so I could create a window, complete with an acetate panel for the TiffanyDoodles Challenge. I used the colors from Color Throwdown, which reminded me a bit of Christmas. I think my grandma will enjoy this as one of her cards this year...Christmas In July, perfect for the new challenge over at Anjillic Creations! Also, the current Wee Memories Challenge is a Stamp Anything, I really love the look of watermark ink and do not do it often enough. Thank you for everyone who puts on a challenge because it really gives me inspiration and makes me think!

Tiny Treasure

They weren't quite sure what they were doing. They didn't know if his diaper was on snug, if he was getting enough to eat. They didn't have a clue how long they should let him sleep or if he was too cold or hot. They did know that somehow they would make it through, and that they were blessed with this tiny treasure, their precious baby.

The layout of this card is based off the sketch at TiffanyDoodles Challenge as well as this skinny fawn image. I adore this fawn, to me it represents all things and emotions in life that are new. There is also a Let's Get Sticky Challenge over at Wee Memories, so I was able to incorporate some super sweet sticker sayings in my card. Always fun to try out different styles and this card is certainly a departure from my normal CAS designs. Perhaps treading away from the normal is one way to find your true style, what works for you, what you like.
