Giddy Thanks

The clothesline. The clothespin. The pink with the blue background. Something hanging or a tag. The rustic cute feel. That is how I was inspired. I keep thinking about the best piece of advice I've heard in a while from none other than Cristina (paraphrasing): stare at the picture, walk away and then write down what you remember and design your project around that.

Paper Smooches posted this delightful inspiration picture for their Sparks Challenge. I pulled out a really cute bug from Giddy Bugs (although all Paper Smooches stamps are dreadfully cute) and centered my card around it.

The current Wee Memories Challenge also got me thinking before completing the card, as I knew I wanted to incorporate some of my new ore newer to me favorite techniques. I shaded patterned paper with markers and ink, I double dry embossed a panel for added texture and I paper pieced.

Ink: (Java) Momento, (Fresh Snow) PTI

  18. I read that tip too and thought what a great idea!

I love your take on the inspiration photo, and the cuteness of that butterfly. I also love the woodgrain panel which I thought was twine wound around several times at first glance.

    Perfect!

  20. The pink on this card really stands out and I just love the Paper Smooches sentiment, such a fun feel. I think Cristina's advice is a good one... I can see you walking away, folding some laundry and coming back to make a "wow" card (okay maybe skip the laundry, but...).
