Your Own Pie Crust

Perhaps it was destiny. Perhaps it was chance. With a last name like mine you've got to make your own pie crust. The husband was a bit intimidated when we were first married-you see, his mother gave up making her own pie crust. My mother, on the other hand, was a natural, and taught me a few of her tricks (thank you mom!). The husband is no longer intimidated, in fact, he excepts a homemade crust. And whenever we gather for the big holidays at the in-laws, it is given that I make a pie.

Yesterday was a busy but productive day. I was recently gifted some apples and a pie is in the works. Shortly, I will deliver this little card to as a thank you, however, I don't image there will be any pie left to send along with it... (Lawn Fawn offered up a challenge to make a thank you card and actually send it.) Lawnscaping also offered up a challenge to make a card for World Card Making Day! I used a mix of My Silly Valentine and Sophie's Sentiments.

The colors from The Play Date Cafe lent a hand in the design as well.

In addition to card making yesterday, we also got to do this:

Supplies:
Cardstock: (Kraft, Vintage Cream) PTI

Patterned Paper: (Pyrus) Basic Grey
Stamps: (My Silly Valentine, Sophie's Sentiments) Lawn Fawn
Ink: (Vintage Photo Distress) Ranger
Fiber: (Natural Burlap String) May Arts
Tools: (Die) Wplus9, (Linen Impression Plate, side 2) PTI
Other: (Markers) Copic

  26. WOW, it's fall where you are - I wish I knew what fall really loked like. Here the trees are green as can be - and while that's nice, I wish there was a pile of brown/orance crunchy leaves to jump into!!!

I love this card - I also LOVE it that you're actually a baker ;). Too cool! Who ever gets this card will LOVE it! As for me, I didnt make any cards this weekend :(. Sad for World Cardmaking day & all. Feeling like Poo, making a wreath, & oh-so busty with the kiddos. Hopefully tonight!! You've really inspired me today (as always)!!!

  38. Leaves already??? Now that I think about it, there should be leaves as it is already October. Am I not paying attention??? (I just looked out the window at work and although it is in a small city, there are a few trees visible and the leaves are green - phew!)
Great card BTW with all that texture!
