"A Poem Missing the Word Woulda"
My husband asked me if I was going to make cards for the magazines today. He thought I should keep at it because I was bummed that I worked so hard last time and didn't get anything picked up. Then he took the boys and came back a couple hours later and asked how things went, with the whole card making business because obviously, I hadn't cleaned any of the house. I told him with a thankful note in my voice that yes indeed, I did make a few cards. He's a good one to keep around a few more years.
Towards the end there, my individual creativity was running out so I turned to a few challenges to help jump start it again. Young Crafters Unite has a great sketch, and Market Streets Stamps Paint the Town Color Challenge was too irresistible to pass up.
Supplies:
Cardstock: (So Saffron) SU, (Vintage Cream) PTI, (Gray) Bazzill
Patterned Paper: (Farmhouse Collection) October Afternoon
Stamps: (Cane, Vintage Notepad, Faith In You) Market Street Stamps
Ink: (Really Rust, So Saffron Pigment) SU, (Vintage Photo Distress) Ranger
Embellishments: (Sticker Bird from Farmhouse Collection) October Afternoon, (Natural Burlap String) May Arts
Wow, your husband is the best - definitely keep him around for a while longer :) I love this card Karen, the colours are lovely and your colouring of the bird is gorgeous. Best of luck with the submissions.
ReplyDeleteHOw sweet is that husband of yours! If this beautiful one is any indication, wowser, beautiful stuff!
ReplyDeleteKaren, quite possibly my favorite designer, you are amazing at this card stuff. I so happy you submitted some cards. Since we last emailed I submitted another one, but I'm all tapped out. I find the process exhausting. So sweet of your hubby to be supportive of your passion (and to take the boys out to give you time to actually work on it). This card is gorgeous. The image, your coloring, the deep orange scroll banner...just beautiful. And your new blog header is too!!! It's so YOU :)

ReplyDeleteYour DH sounds like a sweetie!
I just saw some red winged black birds in my yard. They are usually one of the first signs of spring around here (even before the robins). I wonder if they are lost or if spring is on its way. We have been really lucky with such a mild winter this year.
Such a pretty card! Thank you so much for joining our Young Crafters Unite challenge =)
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
