AECP:: No Outline Layering

I'm back today with another card for the Altenew Educator Certification Program, this entry is for the All About Layering Two online card class.

There were more fabulous tips and tricks in this class as well. One of the takeaways that I had is that you can get a completely different look for your layering stamps without using the border image! One can stamp in like colors to build up dimension that has your eye complete the image without the border. So smart! I can honestly say in my more than decade of stamping, I have never tried this for a complete card design, and I love it. All my layering sets from Altenew are seen with new eyes now and I cannot wait to try more of this technique. I also learned that it is still ok to create one layer cards, these types of cards really let the stamp layering and ink combinations shine.

I used the the layering floral images from Garden Treasure Stamp Set and Remember This stamp sets to create a loose floral arrangement. The ink colors came from the mini ink cube sets of the Summer Afternoon, Red Sunset, Green Fields and Coffee Break. Unlike the technique of using a stamping block on my first card, the Misti helped me layer the images.

I finished the card with a sentiment from the Painted Greetings Stamp Set and splatters of white paint and a few dark brown ink dots. As one last added touch for the one layer card, I rounded one corner.

These first two classes were fantastic, they really brought me back to the basics of stamping and how your stamps can work for you. You don't need fancy gadgets, a lot of supplies or experience...just great stamps, inks and passion! I am really excited to show you more cards that I've done for additional classes for Level One of the Altenew Educator Certification Program.
