Every now and then I like to challenge myself to use "lost" items on my desk, the items that had previously been stamped or colored, but never made it to a card.
Today I did just that. I remember making these leaves...they first started with a background made from the Carnivale Color Bursts. On one side, I had used the red colors...but I wasn't happy with that. So I turned the paper over and played with the green colors from the Color Burst pack. After it dried, I used the Bear Grass Stencil with Mardi Gras Ink to create an additional pattern. I then stamped and clear embossed the fun leaves from Leave Me In Paradise Stamp Set, and die cut them out with the Leave Me In Paradise Dies. So today, I fiddled with an arrangement that I was happy with, creating a tree out of them. I adhered them to an Ultra Smooth White Cardstock card base-layering each with dimensional adhesive for a stacked effect.
For additional interest, the card base was embossed with a series of the Picture Frame Dies. I finished the card with some black splatters and a sentiment made with the Happy Thanks Word Die. I love how the pink hue from the back of the paper reflects off the white cardstock for some added interest!
