Country Bumpkin


I literally clench the wheel when driving on interstates or through big cities. Although I love what the city might have to offer, call me a country bumpkin any day and give me the speed limits of only 35-55 miles per hour. I think its been at least six months since I last drove through a city that has a real sky scape, and I'm totally fine with that.

I was quite intrigued, however, to participate in Moxie Fab World's Cityscapes are on the Rise Challenge for the fact that cities represent growth. Growth represents change, as in a graduation, or a promotion-where the sky is literally the limit!

I created the night time sky with a few squirts of mist after masking out the buildings. The windows were created by using mesh as a mask. (Often times I wish I had the resources to learn more about my camera so I can accurately capture how all the elements work together in my card, but alas, I am a country bumpkin without too many resources around--and I'm totally fine with that...)

    I misread the title and thought it said "country Pumpkin" and when I saw the city scene, I was confused!!! LOL, then I read more carefully, lol!!!! Driving in big cities is the PITS! lol.

    The Practicing Creativity sentiment is perfect for these, and oh-so-clever you created your own sky scrapers, love it! There's nothing wrong with being a country bumpkin... I have stress attacks at big cities too.

    Country Bumpkin, LOL! This is awesome! I love the blue and orange together. I am with you on the relaxed lifestyle of the suburbs. I love the slow life. LOL!

    As always, your use of color is so striking and perfectly suited to the theme of the card. I love the inked sky and clever way you masked to created the windows. And though I now live in an urban area nestled between two major interstates (and everyone in MA drives like they had to be there 20 minutes ago), I will always be a country girl with a great appreciation for a slow country drive (or even better, a walk!). I'm okay with that, too!

    And you would love it here in Bermuda - the speed limit is 35 kph. Except for in the town of St. George's where it is 25 kph! :)

    Fabulous Card!! I feel the same way about driving in the city! Downtown Denver is not even really "Big" city but the one way roads and narrow lanes just put me on edge. Much happier in my suburbs :)

    This is great! I love the city but live in a rural area now. It's nice to be able to drive in to the city and come back to our nice, quiet town.

    Driving in the city is a challenge no matter where you live. All the crazies behind the OTHER wheels make it life threatening... it's why I take the train now.

    The simplicity of the skyline is a wonderful contrast to the movement in the sky. And the use of mesh to make the windows is so creative. This is a great card.
