Number of Tools


I remember registering for our wedding with my husband and in order for him to remain remotely interested in towels and cooking supplies, we had to stop by the automotive department. The "combo" package wouldn't do, he had to register for the drill, the sander, the screwdriver set separately. I also recall his statements on how he needed to go to his father's, because his father has everything and can offer a solution to his problem. Of course, we are now older and therefore my car has to fight for room to rest at night. Do you think that men secretly justify their age by the number of tools or supplies that they own in their garage? 

The Masculine Color Trends Challenge at Embellish Magazine inspired this design and direction of this clean and simple card. (Thanks to a great friend for her words of advice during my foray of not making anything post worthy...keep it clean and simple and true to my style and I'll like what I make.)

    I love your story about your husband. LOL! My boyfriend is the same way, we don't have a garage now which is really difficult for him (he has his tools and such in our unfinished walk out basement) but when we had a garage when we lived in Vegas (2 car garage) our cars were still parked in the driveway. LOL! He had his hobby car, 4 wheelers (which unfortunately we don't have anymore)and tools in the garage. No room for our nice working vehicles. HAHAHA!!!

    Anywho, your card is fabulous. :-)

    Grin, this is fabulous! Love the PTI notebook die in there too, great advice (chuckle). Ben says "I like that card. Because it reminds me of daddy." You've got a winner in our books.

    I had a feeling you'd use this stamp set for this challenge--only because I wished I had this set to complete the challenge myself. Great card--love the note paper and the different heights of the bolts.

    Indeed food for thought, I'm gonna justify my age by the amount of scrappy supplies I collect... Lawd a'mighty, I'm 243 years old!!!! lol

    oh, i love everything about this guy card! my aunt bought my uncle a shirt that said "the one with the most toys, still dies", hoping to slow his garage purchases!--it didn't work:)

    Well my hubby is definitely not a "tool" kind of guy (wish he was so he could build things for me and do home repairs), but if you ever need anything tech related, he's the man ;) Your card is FABULOUS, Karen! I have that stamp set but haven't used it much. I bought it so I had more guy card options. Thanks for the inspiration :)

    I love the story--it made me laugh out loud! They hoard tools, we hoard craft supplies...it all works out in the end. ;)

    Awesome masculine card! I like the dimension you created via the placement and coloring of the bolts. Great story, too! Our garage is definitely my husband's territory, and it's full of woodworking tools and a wood strip canoe that is nearing completion. We have a deal: I don't complain about the number of tools he has and he doesn't complain about the number of crafting supplies/gadgets I have! HA!
