Love is in the air with a special Valentine's Blog Hop from May Arts! The Ribbonistas have many lovely projects to get you inspired for the special day. My first card today uses the satin cut-out hearts in an unconventional way (these are discontinued but the technique works for all the amazing satin cut-out ribbons available at May Arts-check out the EX line!). I laid out three rows of these sweet hearts over a custom painted watercolor cardstock panel and applied some Shimmer Creative Medium from Imagine Crafts over the top. When the medium became slightly tacky, I slowly peeled the satin hearts from the paper and was left with a cool embossed background. I applied some distress ink around the edges and onto the panel to bring out the hearts a bit more. I then applied the panel to a kraft cardstock base, die cutting a heart, and stamping a sentiment from Lil' Inker Designs. I finished the card by wrapping some May Arts natural burlap string (SM10) around the card and tying a bow right over the heart!
My next card features three colors of the really popular May Arts Adhesive Sequin Hearts (A478-15)! This card was soooo easy. I stamped a sentiment from Lawn Fawn, tied three strings together of the May Arts Black Burlap String together and then adhered them to the card using the Adhesive Hearts as balloons!
I hope you have a chance to enjoy the hop and be inspired, as always there is a giveaway! Two winners will receive some ribbon, comment along the way and at the May Arts Blog!
