Abstract Florals // Right at Home + Catherine Pooler Ink Blog Hop

Creating with Right at Home Stamps and Catherine Pooler Inks is an ideal combination.
They just work together and go together, like peanut butter and jelly!
Today I'm participating in a blog hop featuring Right At Home Stamps and Catherine Pooler Inks. You can find the complete details and participating blogs on the Right at Home Blog.

I was drawn to the Abstract Florals Stamp Set for its limitless possibilities. I knew that the solid flowers would stamp so well with Catherine Pooler Inks! I started with Sand Dunes Card Stock (affiliate link used) and created flowers with the following inks: Melon Ice and Lime Rickey for the leaves and stems, and for the flower tops I used Tiara and Sauna, Bellini and Mandarin Orange, and It's a Girl and Party Dress.

I mounted the panel onto some pink cardstock and found coordinating Nuvo Drops to add to the base of the flower, along with doodling three black dots. I finished the card with the perfect, petite sentiment from Right At Home's Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set.

This next card also features Abstract Florals Stamp Set, but I wanted to showcase how the elements could make something other than flowers! I created little bees flying through clouds with the stamps in the set. The bee bodies were stamped with Tiara Ink, the wings with Black Jack and second generation Black Jack stamping, and Midnight for the stripes. I used a black pen to create the eyes and stingers. The clouds were stamped in It's A Boy Ink, with second generation stamping as well. The flying wind and dots were stamped with Soft Stone Ink.

I finished the card with a custom colored sentiment panel (I swiped Soft Stone Ink onto white cardstock) and then stamped a sentiment from Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set.

Here's a listing of the participating blogs today:

I hope you enjoy seeing all the inspiration today on the hop. Remember to leave a comment on each blog post to be entered to win an item of your choice from the latest Right At Home Release!

All the Flamingos

All the flamingos. Just a fun little card I needed to put together for a friend who is going through a bit of a tough time. Inside, the card reads Warm Thoughts.

I stamped the cute flamingo from Hello Bluebird's Silly Birds onto bright pink cardstock with black ink, colored them in with colored pencils, added a heart and dots and then matted the panel with black. I mounted it to a white card base and finished with a stone gray sentiment strip, stamped with a Paper Smooches sentiment.

The Perfect Reason Bundle, along with You Did It! Stamps make for perfect graduation cards or encouragement cards! A few of the pieces I mounted with dimensional adhesive, and finished the card with a sentiment from You Did It! and some baker's twine.

This next card features how The Perfect Reason Dies can make for a fun card as well!

Here I started with a White Card Stock base, and die cut a number of flowers and leaves from solid colored cardstock from the  The Perfect Reason Dies and finished with a sentiment from You Did It! stamped with Melon Ice Ink. I added just a spattering of white Nuvo Drops as well.

Catherine Pooler:: Eat, Sleep Create Mixed Media Class at StampNation

Yes, you are at my blog. Yes, that is a mixed media card! Thanks to the fantastic Eat, Sleep, Create Mixed Media Class available now at StampNation, I'm learning a ton of new, fun mixed media techniques!

I don't normally dabble Bible Journaling, ATC's or Mixed Media projects in general, so I took my project base and made it into a card. For this card, I started with a thick white card stock base (affiliate links used), covered it with Mod Podge and added a few, bright swatches of Catherine Pooler Party Collection Inks. I then added water, more inks, more Mod Podge, used the Split Chevron Stencil with white Pigment Ink, stamped in silver, and splattered silver paint and added some washi tape. I just kept layering and adding, and it seemed to turn out ok!

After the panel thoroughly dried, I ran it through my plates of my die-cutting machine to flatten it out. I adhered the panel to a white card base, affixed some cool stripes from the Black Tie Gala Patterned Paper Pack and a double die-cut sentiment from the Thanks Die.

To learn more about this fantastic class with really, really great instructors, please click here! If I can do this, learn from it, and create something that I feel proud to give away, you can too!

Tropical Thanks

It's a bit odd to create a tropical themed card when there is a foot of snow outside, but at least I got to think of warmer weather while creating it! I wanted to feature these fun dies, Tropical Foliage, from Hello Bluebird, and took inspiration on the colors from the Butterfly Reflections April Mood Board.

I started with a white card base that was stamped with Brushstroke Stripes from Studio Katia with Stone Blue Catherine Pooler Ink. I then watercolored, with Catherine Pooler Inks, a piece of watercolor paper and die cut some pretty leaves and fronds from Hello Bluebird's stand alone die, Tropical Foliage. These were arranged onto the striped card front. I finished the card with a few irridescent sequins and a text block sentiment that uses Right At Home's Tiny Sentiments.

A Stack of Jungle Animals

I have a serious addiction to stamping critters. A serious one. Probably because they are just so cute stacked! I've gotten a lot of inquires on how I do this, so I took a few work in progress photos to show you. I chose to work with my most recent stamp purchase for this quick tutorial.

I always start by laying out the un-inked photopolymer images directly onto a work surface. This time I am working with the absolutely adorable Hello Bluebird Jungle Littles critters. You want to start with an animal that is short and stout, or has a good amount of area for another critter to rest on. Then you build up from there.

I then mask and stamp, starting with the stamp on the top! After I stamped all of these guys, I chose to fussy cut around the images and color them with Copics.

Since the balloon string and lion tail where too small to fussy cut around, I stamped the images directly onto the card base instead. I adhered my fussy cut animals onto a blue card base, added some die cut grass and finished with a coordinating sentiment, also from Jungle Littles.

A Three Card Share

Happy Easter!
I have three cards to share today, and had very much fun getting inky for Nicole from Right At Home's challenges for National Craft Month. First up features a no-line colored koala from Hello Bluebird's Jungle Littles, and the balloon from Silly Birds, as well as a background stripes stamp from Simon Says Stamp for the Use a Background Stamp. I started with a grout card base, stamped the stripes with versamark ink, and attached my cute koala that I had colored with Prismacolors. The sentiment was white heat embossed onto black paper and adhered, to finish off the card.

This next card is for the Use a Spectrum of Colors Challenge. For this one, I stamped a few of the left facing birds from Silly Birds onto a white cardstock panel that had been die cut with Catherine Poolers Tags, Etc. set. I copic colored the birds and balloons, and added some Wink of Stella to the hat and balloon for some added interest. I adhered the panel to a blue cardstock base, and finished the card with some grey string tied in a knot.

Lastly, I have a one layer card for the Spring Florals Challenge. I stamped an arragment of florals and greens from Catherine Pooler's Grateful Heart Stamp Set, and using the backs of the stamps, I stamped some fresh, spring colors on top of the images. This is my new favorite way to add bold spots of colors, and it is so quick and easy. The trick is to have either mirror image stamps, or one stamp that has been symmetrically designed for this to work. I finished the card with a sentiment from Right at Home's Script Greetings.

I've had a lot of fun playing along with these challenges, I've learned some new techniques and got to practice old ones.

Toucans

I'm back today with another challenge card that Nicole from Right At Home is hosting for National Craft Month. This time I chose to copy her technique of using masks to create a watercolor background for the Try a New Watercolor Technique. I have never done this before, and I do think I am hooked now! It offers just the right amount of messiness for my liking. I used my newest stamps, from Hello Bluebird, called Silly Birds, and the die set called Tropical Foliage. Instead of using masking paper, I just cut the Tropical Foliage from white cardstock, used removable adhesive to attach them to watercolor paper, and then painted around the edges, dis some splattering with the watercolor paint, and then removed the leaves. I then stamped the bird and branch separately, die cut them, and affixed them to the card. The sentiment from  Silly Birds was white heat embossed onto black card stock, and then I finished the card by adding a custom Nuvo Drop eye to the toucan and a few black Nuvo Drop embellishments.

Spring Poinsettias

The sweet Nicole from Right at Home has a series of challenges that she put up for National Craft Month. I'm a little bit late, but wanted to try to participate in some, as they really put my thinking cap on and have the chance to have some fun!

I started with the challenge to Use a Holiday Item for a Spring Card, so I pulled out the Christmas Foliage Stamp Set, stamped some flowers onto watercolor paper, and used Catherine Pooler Inks to color and create a background. I then used Script Greetings to create the large sentiment and small sentiment strip.

I'm hoping I'll have my other cards ready before the deadline...

Catherine Pooler Designs:: All that Jazz

Such an elegant and classy release this is from Catherine Pooler Designs, and it is called All That Jazz(affiliate links used) This collection features All that Jazz Ink, stamps, dies and background stamps, and individual items the previously released Counting Blessing Stamp of Approval Collection.

I've got a few projects to showcase today for the first day of the blog hop.

This first one started with the  Ultra Smooth White Cardstock and I stamped it with the new Doin' the Polka Background Stamp with Midnight Ink. I added a strip of classic black and white stripe patterned paper to the bottom, from the new Black Tie Gala Patterned Paper. I added some little flower details to the polka dots with a stamp from Grateful Heart in All that Jazz Ink. The dots and stripes were divided with some lovely flowers from Grateful Heart, and the sentiment, from Good Things Stamp Set cut from the Tags, Etc. Die Set.

For this next card, I started with a white card base from the Ultra Smooth White Cardstock and used Mother of Pearl Nuvo Mousse over the new Square Dance Stencil on the top half of the card. I then added a black strip of paper, topped with the beautiful flowers from Grateful Heart, colored with the Nuvo Mousse.

The sentiment comes from the stamp Good Things, and the Wonderful Die covered with the mousse.

And last but not least, I have a clean and simple card, featuring the Leaf Motifs Stamp Set, and Tags, Etc. Die Set.

The background is the new Sand Dunes Card Stock cut with the Tags, Etc. Dies. I stamped some leaves from the Leaf Motifs Stamp Set, and the solid colors are Spruce, Eucalyptus, Green Tea and Shea Butter. I added a black strip that has a white heat embossed sentiment from Leaf Motifs.

Please be sure to hop and comment, as there are prizes! 5 random winners will be chosen to receive two free ink pads (and free shipping!)

Here is the complete list of the Creative Team that are hopping today:

LID:: March 2018 Release:: Day 3

Today is the last day of the Lil' Inker Designs March 2018 Release Showcase... I hope you've been inspired to create some project made with these fabulous products from this release! If you are following the hop, you should have arrived from the ever so talented Jessica's Blog! (Visit the Lil' Inker Design's Blog for the full link up.)

My first project today features the So Very Kind Greeting Die, which is a perfect die to create a shaker! I die cut the greeting from blue paper, backed it with acetate, added some fun spring sequins and then adhered it to a white square card base with dimensionals. How easy?!!

My next card, I think, is so stinkin' sweet that I just can't stand it! These critters in the new Easter Parade Stamp Set are the sweetest, and are not just for the Easter Season. I love how there are additional sentiments to be included in the banner, beyond Easter/Spring, such as this happy birthday one. I started this card with a die cut blue background from the previously released Cover Up Die: Eyelet. I adhered that to a white card base and then attached a lighter blue panel. I then stamped and colored some of the parade animals from the Easter Parade Stamp Set and die cut them from the coordinating Easter Parade Dies. That is it!

One last project for this release, and it features the cute Happy Bunny Border Die and Happy Bunny Stamps, along with a sentiment from Easter Parade Stamp Set. This card was super easy, I embossed a kraft card panel with the previously released Cover Up Die: Stitched Woodgrain. I die cut a few bunny borders from Happy Bunny Border Die then "dressed" the bunnies using stamps from Happy Bunny Stamps.

Here's a look at the new release products showcased in my projects today:
