Aliens and Monsters

I was able to stamp out some cutie pie aliens, or are they monsters? recently and created some eyeballs for them with Nuvo Drops. The colors were inspired by the MFT Color Challenge 80 and the MFT Sketch Challenge 356 (turned upside down).

Fall Friend

Well, the air definitely has turned to fall for the start of this weekend, and it is expected to snow today. I created a fall card though, wishing for just two weeks back when the pretty fall colored leaves were still hanging on the trees.

I was inspired by the October Sketch for you to Try over at Reverse Confetti. I used Nuts About You, Big Stripes Tag Layer, and Fancy Words Confetti Cuts. The tag was colored with Distress Oxide Inks, the squirrel with Copics and the white card base has some embossed circles.

Best Buds

The incredibly talented Lea Lawson is having a crafty comeback party, have you checked out her posts? I'm so happy to see her back and creating! On one of her posts she teamed up with Neat & Tangled, and asked her viewers to create a card that showcases our style. I adore clean and simple cards...looking at them, creating them, giving them away, so that is what I focused on today!
I was also inspired by the Little Tangles Challenge:  #85 Sketch.

I masked and stamped two of the sweet images from Better Together with black ink onto kraft paper. I then colored them with colored pencils and added a sentiment. To create the shape depicted in the sketch, I drew an outline with colored pencils and lightly colored that in as well. Such a simple card, but a lot of different techniques used!

Where Creativity Meets C9:: A Magnolia Wreath Birthday

If you ever have the chance to go to a stamping retreat, or any kind of crafty retreat, have no hesitations and just GO! It is so good for the soul, and offers a chance to refresh your interest in your craft, along with having the chance to meet so many new and talented friends. I was able to stamp out the Magnolia Wreath Stamp Set (affiliate link) from Concord & 9th while at a retreat this past weekend, I couldn't resist after seeing so many wonderful cards made by my new friends there. It is such a lovely stamp set, and was perfect for the Colors of Concord & 9th Challenge over at the Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge Blog. I have more details on how I created this card over on the challenge blog!

There's still time to play, you have until October 29th and we'd really love to see your amazing projects featuring Concord & 9th products!

LID:: October 2017 Release:: Day 3

Today marks the final day of the Lil' Inker Designs October 2017 Release Showcase! Once again, we have a fabulous hop for you featuring new stamps and dies. If you are following the hop, you should have arrived from the ever so talented Jessica's Blog! (Visit the Lil' Inker Design's Blog for the full link up.)

My first card reminds me of the cartoon and cartoon style I loved to watch as a kid. (Who am I kidding?? I still love to watch the oldie but goodie cartoons!) I started my card with a watercolor panel and stamped the fun, quirky frame from Season''s Greetings, and then the dog from the set. They were all colored with watercolors. I stamped again the banner with a sentiment from Season's Greetings and popped it up with dimensional adhesive.

I created a tag for my next project, and Moody Santa finally has his trusty companion, Rowdy Reindeer! This small set is perfect for a snarky Christmas card or tag, the sentiments are a hoot! I colored Moody Santa and Rowdy Reindeer, die cut them with the coordinating Moody Santa Die Cuts and Rowdy Reindeer Die Cuts, adhered them to a tag cut from Anytime Tags Die Set with Tribal Chic Paper and finished with a sentiment from Rowdy Reindeer. A fun Christmas tag!

My final project for this release is a gift card holder. Everyone in my family likes receiving gift cards, and I like giving them, in cute packaging, of course! I die cut a holder with the previously released Stitched Gift and Note Card Holder Die, added some patterned paper to the flap, and die cut the cute Noel Word Die out of white paper and woodgrain patterned paper for the antlers. I finished with a Nuvo Drop nose and some burlap string.

Here's a look at the new release products showcased in my projects today:

It is with pleasure that I get to send you to the talented Lisa Henke's Blog as the next stop along the hop. I hope you get a chance to visit the Lil' Inker Design Store now as all the NEW OCTOBER 2017 RELEASE products are already up at the store!!

LID:: October 2017 Release:: Day 2

Today is the second of three days of the Lil' Inker Designs October 2017 Release Showcase...and it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Weren't the projects from all the team members simply joyous?! Once again, we have a fabulous hop for you featuring new stamps and dies. If you are following the hop, you should have arrived from the ever so talented Jessica's Blog! (Visit the Lil' Inker Design's Blog for the full link up.)

My first project features a few of my favorite items from this release...well, all the products were amazing, but if I had to choose two, these would be it! I created a super fun background really easily by die cutting some light olive green paper with the Geometric Snow Cover Up Die. Then I added the stamped sentiment from the Peace Love Joy Stamp Set in some retro colors and finished with a side strip and a few Nuvo Drop Embellishments. I love how easy the letters and additional letter details are easy to line up and stamp. And, the letters look great stamped alone, it is your choice to add the details!

I went retro with my first card today, and vintage with this next card! The Vintage Christmas Wreath  Stamp Set and coordinating Vintage Wreath Die are stunning! I stamped the wreath image onto kraft cardstock and colored with Copic Markers. I added a few touches of glitter.

I cut a circle out of the center of the wreath and then stamped a sentiment from Vintage Christmas Wreath onto a kraft card panel. I mounted the wreath with dimensional adhesive and finished with a silk bow.

And one final card for today. I started with a watercolor background, and then stamped and gold heat embossed the lovely, large sentiment stamp Joy to the World in the center as well as some flourishes from that same set. I die cut the panel with Stitched Mats: Rectangles and then adhered it to a kraft card base. I finished the card with some Gold Nuvo Drop embellishments. This card design would be so easy to mass produce, and could be done with a variety of colors!

LID:: October 2017 Release:: Day 1

Today is the first of three days of the Lil' Inker Designs October 2017 Release Showcase...Once again, we have a fabulous hop for you featuring new stamps and dies... It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas for this release! If you are following the hop, you should have arrived from the ever so talented Jessica's Blog! (Visit the Lil' Inker Design's Blog for the full link up.)

My first project features the the super elegant Festive Florals Stamp Set and coordinating Festive Florals Dies. This hand-drawn poinsettia set is all around gorgeous! I stamped the images in gold ink, then die cut them, and colored them in with Prisma Color pencils in a light pink shade. I just adore the light, airy color of pink poinsettias and had to replicate that for my card.

I added a sentiment from Festive Florals and some images stamped in gold onto white cardstock and then layered the colored flowers with dimensional adhesive.

I'm just head over heals for the stand alone die, Christmas Tree Word Die. For this tag, I colored some watercolor paper freely and loosely with greens and yellows, allowed the paper to dry and die cut it with the Christmas Tree Word Die. I finished with some gold glitter on the star, and some burlap string to tie to a present. I know my amazing teammates featured this die on cards, so it is extremely versatile for a tag or as a beautiful focal point on a card!

Here's a look at the new release products showcased in my two projects today:

Where Creativity Meets C9:: Shades of Concord & 9th

There's a new Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge and it's all about creating a project showcasing the beautiful shades of Concord & 9th (in their logo) and the amazing products available at Concord & 9th as this challenge is dedicated to the innovative stamp company and their products!

There are so many beautiful stamp sets available at Concord & 9th that are great for this challenge, I created two cards, featuring stamps from Brushed Blossoms, Butterfly Beauty and Wildflower.

My first card is more of a masculine thank you, quite clean and simple, but an homage to the Concord & 9th logo. I swiped a series of pigment ink onto a cardstock panel and white heat embossed a sentiment from Butterfly Beauty and then added this panel with dimensional adhesive to a square card base.

My second card is more feminine. I stamped a series of wildflowers from the Wildflower Stamp Set, and topped it with a beautiful stamped butterfly from Butterfly Beauty. I finished with a sentiment from Brushed Blossoms and some silver twine.

The challenge is sponsored by the fabulous Concord & 9th and one lucky random entry will receive a $25 gift certificate for a Concord & 9th shopping spree. The favorite entry will be asked to guest design for a future challenge! The challenge runs until October 29th, so there is plenty of time to pull out your favorite Concord & 9th stamps and die and create an one layer project. Plus, new Concord & 9th products were released TODAY and they are fantastic! Just in time for holiday crafting!

You can find Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge on Facebook here, and their Instragram here!
