Serenading Sursee Birds

 

Catherine Pooler Designs is having an Instagram giveaway! This week, Brand Ambassadors and influencers are showcasing their favorite combination of the new Date Night Inks and their favorite techniques to use with them.

My second card for this week features a favorite color combination with these new inks-Serenade and Drive-In! Now, this really surprised me, as I normally do not gravitate towards purple, but man, that Serenade color is like some magical mix of blue and purple and is just divine!

For this single layer card, I started with an Ultra Smooth White Cardstock, then inked up the cute two-step birds from the December Club Sursee Lovely Birdies Stamp Set. The body of the birds were stamped in Serenade and the outlines in Drive-In. I then stamped the branches in Black Jack Ink with the leaves in In the Park. For added interest and an illusion of a sky, along with a bit of fun, I stamped random dots in Cummerbund Ink. 

I finished the card with a stamped sentiment in Midnight Ink from the Magnetic Messages Stamp Set.

Date Night Ink Instagram Giveaway

Catherine Pooler Designs is having an Instagram giveaway! This week, Brand Ambassadors and influencers are showcasing their favorite combination of the new Date Night Inks and their favorite techniques to use with them.

My first card for this week features one of my favorite components of the inks-their water reactivity.

I first masked off a simple frame on a card base made from Ultra Smooth White Cardstock, then ink blended Cummerbund Ink. I mixed the ink with water and splattered droplets of the colored water over the panel. I then stamped and watercolored the poppies from the Grace in Bloom Floral Stamp Set. I used Do-Si-Do and In the Park Inks for the flowers, leaves and stems, topped with a touch of Chiffon.

Hedgehogs and Hugs

 

I have a few hedgehog and hugs cards to share today!

My first card was based on the current Wednesday Sketch Challenge 525. I created an ink blended and spattered background and then stamped, colored and die cut the logs from the retired Happy Hedgehogs Stamp Set. I added a focal image of the sweet hedgehog and a heart, and then some alternate images of leaves and toadstools.

I finished with a sentiment from the same set.

My next card is a bit simple, but I like how the die cut sentiment takes center stage, accentuated from the cute hedgehog from Happy Hedgehogs. This card is for the MFT Color Challenge 157.

I die cut the sentiment with the Sending You Hugs Die-Namics and adhered it to an aqua card base. Then I stamped, die cut and colored a hedgehog from Happy Hedgehogs, tucking in a heart in his hands.

I placed the hedgehog at a slight angle and he makes me smile because I think he's ready to roll right off the card and into someone's lap.

I always appreciate the challenges MFT has as they really get me out of my comfort zone and make super cute cards!

A Carrot Bunch

I'm hosting a sketch challenge over at StampNation!

It was a perfect time to use some fun patterned paper and some stamps that I really love but haven't played with in a while.

My card started with a base of Ultra Smooth White Cardstock. I added a fun chevron based patterned paper panel from the Summer Pick-N-Mix Patterned Paper Pack. I then cut the frame from the Instant Thanks Die, backing it with white and adhering at an angle to the card base. Onto it, I white heat embossed the sentiment from the Veggies Please Stamp Set.

I then stamped three carrots from Veggies Please in Orange Peel and Mandarin Spice, and the greenery with Lime Rickey and Eucalyptus. I used the corresponding Veggies Please Dies and arranged the set in the corner of the frame. I finished the card with a bow made from Midnight Twine.
