A Pair of Blooms

Catherine Pooler Designs newest collection, Beautiful New Year has arrived! This collection is a mix of three bundles that wrap up of the year with a "thanks" bundle, a "new years" bundle and a lovely "floral bundle"...hitting all the card making basics!

I couldn't stop making cards with items from the Thanks Bundle and the Beautiful Day Bundle...both coordinate so well together and items can be used on their own. I started this card by stamping the florals from the Beautiful Day Floral Stamp Set with Ink on 3's no-line coloring ink onto a watercolor paper panel. I colored the images with various inks. I then splattered some black paint over the image.

The panel was matted with black cardstock and mounted to a card base made from Ultra Smooth White Cardstock. I then added a sentiment from Sincere Thanks Stamp Set and an older die cut word, Thanks Die.

Beautiful Day Dots

The newest release from Catherine Pooler Designs is almost here! Beautiful New Year is a mix of three bundles for the wrap up of the year with a "thanks" bundle, a "new years" bundle and a lovely "floral bundle"... just to hit all the card making basics! The collection will be available tomorrow, December 9th at 9am EST (early ordering tomorrow for StampNation Members today at noon!)

I am once again showcasing items from the Thanks Bundle and the Beautiful Day Bundle...both coordinate so well together and items can be used on their own. I started this card by stamping the florals from the Beautiful Day Floral Stamp Set with Midnight Ink onto a card base made from Ultra Smooth White Cardstock. I then added the lovely handwritten sentiment from the Sincere Thanks Stamp Set. 

With an idea from Jennifer McGuire, I "reverse colored" the image using markers around the edges of the stamp. For a final finishing touch, I tied the card with a bow from the amazing Midnight Twine. I love how beautiful this image is without having to be a master in coloring!

Catherine Pooler Designs:: Beautiful New Year Release

Have you caught the lives or replays on Catherine Pooler's You Tube or Facebook these past couple of days? She has showcased items from Catherine Pooler Designs newest collection, Beautiful New Year! This collection is a mix of three bundles for the wrap up of the year with a "thanks" bundle, a "new years" bundle and a lovely "floral bundle"... just to hit all the card making basics! The collection will be available Wednesday, December 9th at 9am EST (early ordering tomorrow for StampNation Members-Tuesday the 8th at noon!)

This modern, shiplap inspired card I am showcasing today features items from the Thanks Bundle and the Beautiful Day Bundle...both coordinate so well together and items can be used on their own too! I started by stamping a panel of Ultra Smooth White Cardstock with Over Coffee Ink with the previously released Woodgrain Background Stamp. I then cut the panel with the new, super cool Mod Strips Cover Plate Die. I inked the edges of some strips and applied them to a card base, also made from Ultra Smooth White Cardstock. I added some "nails" with gray markers. I made sure to leave some room for a sentiment, which I stamped in Juniper Mist Ink (a wonderful, softer alternative to black!) with the new, you've gotta have it versatile Sincere Thanks Stamp Set. For additional detail, I stamped the cute little add-on images from the Beautiful Day Floral Stamp Set in Juniper Mist, die cut them with the corresponding Beautiful Day Floral Dies and colored them quickly with markers.

Missing Ewe

 

Ink swiping across paper is such an easy way to create a fun background, and adding some splatter makes it into a fun sky! I'm participating in the MFT Color Challenge #154 with this Missing Ewe card.

I stamped, colored and fussy cut the cute sheep image and hills from the retired MFT Ewe Are the Best Stamp Set, which was placed against a panel of an ink blended, splatter sky. I finished with a simple sentiment. The card is nice and flat and easy for mailing to someone you are missing.

Waiting For You To Come Home

 

Someone very special to me worked really hard to get where she is at, and to celebrate her latest accomplishment she rewarded her family with a new dog, a golden retriever! I had to celebrate both occasions so I created this interactive card for her.

My card started with a card base made from Ultra Smooth White Cardstock. From the front of the card, I die cut the shutters with the Outside Your Window Dies, then stamped the shutters with Icing on the Cake Ink and the Outside Your Window Stamp Set. This created a super cute window interactive element. On the back side of the front card, I adhered a die cut window frame made with the Window Sill Dies, covered in Seafoam Ink. I then stamped and colored one of the pups from Peeking Pets onto a card panel (colored to look like a golden retriever, using Sauna Ink), which was adhered to the inside of the front panel.

To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from the retired Congratulations Sentiment Stamp Set in Seafoam Ink and then adhered strips of white paper to the card front to mimic siding of a house.

It's so fun to combine stamp sets and dies from Catherine Pooler Designs, and especially fun to come up with new ways to peek pets out of of!
