Catherine Pooler Designs:: Date Night Ink

Catherine Pooler Designs is kicking off 2021 with a sweet little Valentine mini-collection. Love-N-Hearts has a sushi date theme for all the cutesy, pun-loving peeps and a hip hearts theme that anyone will love. The release will also have the eight (8!) new Date Night Party Inks all hitting the shop! Do-Si-Do, Catching Rays, Chiffon, In the Park, Cummerbund, Serenade, Drive-In, and Pucker Up are the colors, and they are fabulous!

Today's card features the Date Night Inks in all their glory! This has to be one of my most favorite cards, ever, even though it might be simple.

1. My youngest son (he's 14!) declared one night that he wanted to stamp with me. He chose the deer image from Catherine Pooler Designs Wild About You Stamp Set and we worked together on the simple design. He set up the MISTI and we stamped together.

2. This simple design showcases the amazing versatility of these inks when the stamps overlap, as well as the vibrancy and solid images you get when stamping with these inks.

The new colors showcased from top left to bottom right are: In the Park, Serenade, Drive-In, Cummerbund, Chiffon, Do-Si-Do, Pucker Up, and Catching Rays. I added a double stamped sentiment from the Sincere Thanks Stamp Set in Midnight Ink.

High Tide or Low Tide

As soon as I saw the colors from the MFT Color Challenge 156, I knew I wanted to color the cute ocean friends in the new to me stamp set, Friends with Fins. Then I saw the MFT's Sketch Challenge 522 and all I saw was the whale with his buddies! I love it when I can make a card come together as I see it in my head!

To add interest to the background, I embossed a piece of Berrylicious Cardstock with the Radiant Rays Stencil, then arranged the ocean friends on top of it, with the whale being the center focus. I made the whale even more the object of the card by adhering an action wobbler to him, so he wiggles back and forth!

I tried to get a quick video of it, but it was kind of difficult to do one handed. I finished the card with a stamped sentiment, also from Friends with Fins.

Bursts of Balloons

 

I enjoy joining in on the live Zoom crafting sessions that Catherine Pooler Designs hosts on StampNation! So much fun to see everyone's faces and look at the projects that they create! If you haven't joined StampNation yet, check it out!

I'm showcasing the card I created for the first Zoom session on New Year's Eve Day.  I started with a card base made from Ultra Smooth White Cardstock. I selectively inked each of the bursts from the Dotted Bursts Background Stamp in various inks (linked below). Then I created a mask from the Circle Dies, and brushed on the coordinating ink, to create a somewhat solid circle image.

With a light gray marker, I traced the inside of the circle mask onto each circle, leaving a little area on the bottom, in which I draw a balloon knot. Then, I added the "string" to each balloon with a black marker. I finished the card with a hand cut banner stamped with a sentiment from the Birthday Cake Remix Stamp Set. The card came together very quickly, I had time to start another before the end of the Zoom session!

A Shaker Cake

Still celebrating the tenth birthday of Catherine Pooler Designs StampNation! We had a really fun live Zoom session on New Year's Eve day and New Year's Day. On the second day, I created this fun shaker card! I started with a card base and a card panel made from Ultra Smooth White Cardstock. On the panel, I embossed the dots with the Scattered Circles Stencil. Then I die cut the tiered cake images with the Birthday Cake Remix Die Set and created a shaker window from the three tiers. I used some really old sequins from my stash, but I think the mix is quite fun!

I finished the card with a stamped sentiment from Birthday Cake Remix Stamp Set in Flirty Fuchsia and then added a few die cut and stamped stars and candles also from from Birthday Cake Remix Stamp Set stamped in Flirty Fuchsia.

Most of these products are from the Birthday Bundle Release, in honor of StampNation's tenth birthday.
