Moody Flowers

I've been drawn to images I see of moody flowers...weddings, paintings, home decor. I love the bright spots popping out of a dark background, almost like beginning to live again after a rough period in life. The January Altenew Inspiration Challenge reminded me of moody flowers, I tried to mimic the foggy background.

I started by masking, stamping and white heat embossing on dark cardstock various blooms and foliage from Dahlia Blossoms and Peony Bouquet, coloring in with colored pencils. The dark pink shade got a bit more purple on me than I wanted, but I still like the colors. I then deepened the background with ink, and added silver splatters and white splatters of  paint. The colored wax from my colored pencils transferred to the embossing, which I think is a fun accident!

I finished the card with a strip of darkened silver glitter tape, and a sentiment from the Many Thanks Stamp Set.
