Catherine Pooler Designs & Pear Blossom Press Collab Hop

Welcome to the Catherine Pooler Designs x Pear Blossom Press Collab Hop! We're sharing fun, interactive cards that will really brighten your day. They feature awesome new stamps and dies from Catherine Pooler Designs, and with help from Pear Blossom Press, they all really light up!  Be sure to hop along with us for loads of inspiration. If you are following along on the hop, you should have arrived from Ali Farmer's blog.

My first card is clean and simple, but it is the first thing I thought of when I received my EZ Light Kit from Pear Blossom and the Bright Ideas Stamp Set from Catherine Pooler Designs. I leave the light on my for my teenager while he is out with friends at night, as my parents did for me. Nostalgia! Knowing that the lights go out when they get home is comforting.

The set up was so simple for this! I did a preliminary layout of the card by die cutting a window out of a panel from the On the Window Sill Dies, so I knew where the light would hang. Then I attached the battery to the card base and ran the wires by the side and up to the top. The die cuts from the Bright Ideas Dies hid the wires. I then stamped the lightbulb and globe from Bright Ideas onto vellum and die cut it so it created a pocket to sandwich the lights in. The socket case was colored in with the fabulous Essential Gel Pens.

I then attached Double Thick Foam Tape available at Pear Blossom Press to the top panel that was stamped with a sentiment from Bright Ideas, as well as an instructive stamp set called Interactive Labels available at Pear Blossom Press. I added acetate for the window, and then die cut a window from from On the Window Sill Dies out of paper embossed with a woodgrain texture and mounted everything to a pink cardstock base, finishing with a heart die cut on the window.

This was seriously so easy to put together, I have another card to showcase using the same kind of lights, this time I created a holiday slim line card!

For this card, I started by die cutting a three circle cut-out panel from the Post This Slim Line Die. I covered it with Juniper Mist and Queen for a Day ink, and splattered white paint and water droplets to create a night time sky. The panels were back with vellum. On the third circle, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from the Holiday Mix Stamp Set in silver embossing powder.

I then freehand cut another panel to create a snow bank, adhering that to the top of the night sky panel, after stamping and heat embossing a sentiment from Interactive Labels with white embossing powder. I adhered the battery pack behind the snow bank and ran each of the three lights from the EZ Light Kit up to the bottom of the circle. The panel was adhered to a slim line card base with Double Thick Foam Tape. I then added houses and a church die cut in black paper from the Winterhaven Dies, backed each with vellum and colored the windows with copics.

I love how each of these windows light up, and the color of the copic marker shades the light as well.

Any card created with the light kits from Pear Blossom Press are stunners! My boys were quite impressed with these two cards, more so than any other card I have created!

The next stop on the hop is Pear Blossom Press.
