Rose Petals

 

You are capable of amazing things! And I have to say that the floral arrangement from Beautiful Day Floral Stamp Set from Catherine Pooler Designs is just as amazing stamped in a single color as it is colored with various mediums!

My card today started with strips die cut with the Mod Strips Cover Plate Die colored with the ink direct to paper technique with the following inks: Rose Petals, Sangria, Stone Blue, Juniper Mist, Pink Champagne and Sage. 

I adhered the strips onto a card base made form Ultra Smooth White Cardstock. One of the strips I left white and stamped a sentiment from Beautiful Day Floral. I then stamped and die cut the florals from Beautiful Day Floral Stamp Set with the Beautiful Day Floral Dies. I adhered the arrangement onto the card, cutting it into a few pieces. I finished the card with a few clear gems for a bit of sparkle.

Ruff Day

 

When I saw MFT's Sketch Challenge 520, I knew I wanted to use the retired

Stitched Triple Peek-a-Boo Windows Die-Namics that I haven't used in forever.
I imagined a peek-a-boo card right away! 

I used the Peek-a-Boo Windows die in a vertical layout, cutting it from the card front. Then to the inside of the card, I adhered a strip of blue cardstock. I added a row of grass cut from the Grassy Hills Die-Namics, from the retired Happy Trails Patterned Paper Pack. The sentiment was added with the Fishtail Frames Die-Namics and the hilarious, now retired, Lucky Dog Stamp Set. 

I then stamped, fussy cut and did some simple copic coloring of one of the dogs from Lucky Dog, and the bird from Happy Hippos. I then added some clouds from Cloud 9 Die-Namics. To create the peek-a-boo aspect, one cloud was adhered to the blue panel on the inside of the card, and then I stamped, fussy cut and colored the backside of the pup.

I hope this card makes someone smile, just like it did when I was making it!

White Christmas

This is the first year in a long time that we haven't had snow this late in December. The sentiment on this cute snowman from Caroling Sentiments from Catherine Pooler Designs is so fitting right now!

For my card today, I first cut a panel of super cute trees from the Holiday Whimsy Patterned Paper Pack and adhered it to a card base made from Ultra Smooth White Cardstock. Then I used the die from Winterhaven to cut another white panel to create a snowbank. I used the Caroling Sentiments Die Cuts for the snowman and stamped and heat embossed in blue the corresponding stamp set, Caroling Sentiments Stamp Set.

The finishing touches on this card include a paper pieced top hat and scarf, and then two strips along the side, all cut from the Holiday Whimsy Patterned Paper Pack.

Chubby Kitty

 

I'm still on my journey to create some fun cards for my sister, the animal lover. I was drawn to the bright pink and deep red color of the MFT Color Challenge #155 and used mostly retired, but still classic, MFT products.

First, I die cut a panel from Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Dies and splattered black paint on the top portion. Then I stamped, fussy cut and colored this chubby cat from Cool Cats. For the sentiment, I ink blended red and pink inks onto paper and die cut it from the now retired MFT Twice the Hugs die. I added a supporting sentiment from Lots of Hugs. This was all matted with a black frame and adhered to a card base.

I finished with a stamped, glittered heart. I just can't get over the cheeky, chubby kitty! Love him!

Just Bepaws

 

I enjoy making cards for my sister, who is a lover of all animals, especially our four legged friends. She doesn't often have specific card requests, so it is fun to look at my stamps and create away. Today's card is based off a challenge for the MFT Sketch Challenge 519. I was inspired by the triangle shape, however, my sentiment looked so much better at the bottom after putting together my card. I did try some new to me techniques by going with a more monochromatic coloring scheme and adding some patterns with the markers. It was a lot of fun to step outside of my comfort zone!

I stamped, fussy cut and copic colored images from You Have My Heart, and the retired Lucky Dog stamp sets. The girl, tree stump, and dog face are adhered with dimensional adhesive.

You Made My Day

Can't stop, won't stop making things with the newest collection from Catherine Pooler Designs. Beautiful New Year is so fun and versatile. The Thanks Bundle and the Beautiful Day Bundle are my two favorite bundles from the release.

For this card, I pulled out the Mod Strips Cover Plate Die and cut two patterns from the  Fleur De Patterned Paper Pack, arranged them onto an Ultra Smooth White Cardstock card base at an angle with slight space in between. This was quick and easy to to. I trimmed off the access hanging over the card base and then stamped my sentiment from the Sincere Thanks Stamp Set in Spruce Ink. I love this color as an alternative to black, and it is a bonus that it is included in the color palette in the Fleur De Patterned Paper Pack!

I also added a Spruce covered compliment sentiment from the Happy Thanks Word Die. To finish the card, I stamped the Beautiful Day Floral Stamp Set in Spruce and then cut off an edge. I mounted it to the card panel matching one of the stripes of the card, and then fussy cut one of the flower centers from the 

Fleur De Patterned Paper.

I have really enjoyed coloring the blooms from  Beautiful Day Floral and stamping in one color and letting the design shine. I think that the set is perfect for any style, and level of stamper, really, anyone!
