April showers bring fun and cute stamps! This month's theme with the newest release from Catherine Pooler Designs is all about the weather...sunny mornings and cloudy afternoons. The April Showers Bring collection is available at 9am EST today!
Today I'm showcasing the April Showers Stamp Set and coordinating April Showers Dies with an interactive rainfall card! My fellow teammate and I were inspired in similar ways to use seed beads, you can check out Allison's post here!
As usual, my card today started with a Ultra Smooth White Cardstock base. I die cut some clouds from the April Showers Dies and did the ink to paper technique to create custom cardstock. The colors of the cloud base are Hot Tub and Skylight. Then I used the coordinating April Showers Stamp Set to stamp some fun textures onto each of the clouds, with Skylight or Daydream Ink. These three colors are a rainy day dream!
To assemble the card, I adhered the smaller cloud and a sun die cut from the previously released Sunburst Die to the card base. I adhered some dimensional adhesive on the back of the two largest clouds, not yet removing the release paper. I then threaded some seed beads (a mix of mine and CP's...did you know that some of the sequin mixes have beads in them?!) onto fishing line and securely adhered the line to the back of each cloud with double sided tape. I then removed the release paper and stuck the clouds down to the card base. I finished the card with a few sequins from the Crater Lake Sequin Mix and a stamped sentiment from April Showers Stamp Set.
The beads move up and down when the card is tilted for a fun raindrop effect! My son was sure impressed when I showed him the card, and I think it is such a fun, interactive card!
