Spellbinders Susan's Spring Flora Trio

 I had the great pleasure to play with some products from the Susan's Spring Flora Collection from Spellbinders! The detail and realism in this series is out of this world. I created a trio of cards with two products from the line, Lily of the Valley Etched Dies and the Fern & Ivy Etched Dies. For an extra touch, each of the cards also incorporates a piece of birch bark nabbed from my backyard where I have lilies of the valley and ferns both growing!

This first card was created with a custom watercolor panel where the leaves and stems from Lily of the Valley were die cut and arranged onto a stone colored card base. I added the little petals and a piece of birch bark. At the base of the plant, I also cut apart one of the die cuts from Fern & Ivy. I finished with a stamped sentiment from Catherine Pooler Design's Thoughtful Phrases Stamp Set. I love the 3D nature of the petals and the impressed detail from the dies in the leaves!

My next card also features a stone card base, splattered with Titanium Izink. I stamped a sentiment from Thoughtful Phrases and adhered a watercolored die cut from Fern & Ivy. This was stapled to a piece of birch bark.

Before adhering the focal die and bark, I die cut from a solid piece of dark green cardstock the Fern and adhered it to the card base, then adhered the focal piece on top. This created an awesome shadow effect! U stamped a sentiment to finish the card.

My final card also showcases one of the fern dies from Fern & Ivy. I die cut the fern from three times from a custom watercolor panel. I arranged them in a fan, and adhered a piece of birch bark to ground them.

I accentuated the lovely detailed die cuts with a few pearls, and then finished the card with a stamped sentiment from Thoughtful Phrases.

This entire collection was made for gardeners and florists, and those of us that love creating with such images. I love that I can recreate my back yard in paper! Thanks again, Spellbinders, for letting me share projects made with this awesome collection.
