Long and Short
Okay, I'll be the first to admit that the "bosses" through a big project our way for this week's CAS-ual Fridays Challenge and I was skeered! Create a 4x9 card and embrace the white space! Woah Nellie, create a card that isn't standard? Woah, What? Not fill it up with stuff? But never being one to back down I stared down this challenge and came up with the following card.
This size is the perfect size to take to the office and get the tons of swoopy girly signatures for a co-worker during her time of distress. Find out more details about the challenge, read the challenge rules and find tons of Long and Short inspiration from the Girl Fridays at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog.
Oh, and did I mention that this week's sponsor is Lawn Fawn? Um, yeah, you really need to make a long card now!
Supplies Used:
Cardstock: (White) Office Max, (Very Vanilla, Bashful Blue) SU
Stamps: (Critters in the Sea, Sophie's Sentiments) Lawn Fawn
Ink: (Tuxedo Black) Momento
Other: (Markers) Copic
Tools: (Impression Plate) PTI, (Scallop Border Punch, Hole Punch) Fiskars

Love this, what a great way to make the water and you've really nailed this challenge, I've yet to see a card challenge that hasn't inspired you in some way or another, and this is no exception.
Bonjour
Juste un petit cocou!
Tee hee! I love this. LOVE how you did the water! Super cute.... A long card, EEK! Not sure I even know how to cut the card stock to make the long card but I might just have to give it a whirl! You did a fab job! Very inspired.
I LOVE your take on the long card. I am not sure I could do it. Not only do CAS cards intimidate me but then to make the card bigger than normal.....oooh all that extra space to leave empty. Yikes. LOL! You did an amazing job though. :-)
Wonderfully perfect!!!
awesome way to fight back your skeered-ness, karen:) proportion is key for this size and you rocked it!
I love the way you added the blue piece to the center of the card. TFS!
Cheers, Karen

Hi Karen, Thanks for stopping by my blog for a peek. Your whale card is adorable. I think designing on a 4 x 9 card is challenging as well. You divided up the space beautifully.
