Wow Embossing Powder & Catherine Pooler Designs Holiday Blog Hop

Wow Embossing Powder and Catherine Pooler Designs have teamed up for a Holiday Blog Hop! These two companies are really a match made in heaven because there is Embossing Powder and Glitter that matches the famous Catherine Pooler Inks, wow! If you are following the hop, you should have arrived from Verity's Blog.

My first holiday card features the Bundled Up Embossing Trio by Wow from the Catherine Pooler store. The Trio features three powders with glitter in Peppermint Scrub, Sage and Skylight. They are so beautiful! I used the Boughs & Berries Stamp and Die set, along with the Trio, to stamp and emboss some holiday foliate that was arranged around a Chalkboard Frame. To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment in Midnight Ink, also from Boughs & Berries

This is a holiday hop, but I wanted to showcase how holiday items can be used year round as well! I stamped a background using images from Boughs & Berries with Daydream and Eculyptus Inks, then created a sentiment with the beautiful Metallic Copper Embossing Powder. I die cut Happy from the Happy Word Die, some leaves from Boughs & Berries and then a sentiment from Milestone Birthday Sentiment Mix Stamp Set and heat embossed all of them in the shimmery copper powder.

Eek! The newest Lil' Inker Designs products are releasing, and they are so cute for fall and Halloween! This is a mini release, but it is still mighty! If you are following the hop, you should have arrived from the ever so talented Chrissy Ano-Larson's Blog! (Visit the Lil' Inker Design's Blog for the full link up.)

My first project features the a larger version on the Spooky Word Die Original. I die cut the Spooky Word Die Large out four times from the front of a white card base, and then adhered a panel with four inked strips underneath to feature classic Halloween colors. I finished with a bat cut from black cardstock out of the newly revised Bats and Broomsticks Dies.

This next project features some of the Fall/Halloween items currently in the Store and ready to be used for a cute tag! I started with a vellum ghost created from Ghost Shaker Dies. I stamped a pretty face from the Boo & Faces Stamp Set. The banner was created by heat embossing a sentiment, also from Boo & Faces Stamp Set, and die cut with a banner from the Thankful Thoughts Die Set. I finished the tag with a few different fibers and ribbons.

Letter Boards & Pinterest Boards

The letter board trend has been going strong and is a ton of fun. I personally don't own one (yet!) but am collecting all sorts of fun quotes to caption when I do! The card I have today showcases a "letter board' and features stamps and dies from the latest Catherine Pooler Designs It's All About Christmas Release.

This clean and simple card started with a smooth, sleek Ultra Smooth White Cardstock base. I then die cut the letter board frame from Chalkboard Frame Dies (inked lightly with Over Coffee Ink). The embossing indentations were traced with a black pen for added detail. I then stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Oh What Fun Stamp Set and scored a few lines in the black paper to resemble a letter board. Did you know...the Oh What Fun Stamp Set was inspired by all the Pinterest Boards available for holiday porch decorating?!

I next stamped and die cut the fun ribbon/evergreen bough and ribbon, as well as the skates, also from Oh What Fun and Oh What Fun Dies and arranged them over the letter board. For added detail, I colored in the metal of the skates with a silver pen.

It's All About Christmas release is so much fun, and perfect for the holiday season and winter months. The Catherine Pooler supplies I've used are linked (affiliate links used at no cost to you, I sure appreciate your support!) in the body of my post, I hope you have a chance to check them out!

MFT Superstars 2019: Innovation Master Entry

A storybook slider is what I created here for the MFT Superstars Innovation Master category! This little hedgehog starts on a pile full of mushrooms, leaves and acorns and slides and spins down the hill.

I used one stamp set for this slider card, one of my favorite MFT sets, Happy Hedgehogs, and the corresponding Happy Hedgehog Die-Namics. The sky is clear with just a touch of clouds in the sky, created with the retired Cloud 9 Die-Namics.

The slider was created with the partial die-cutting technique (twice) using the Snow Drifts Die-Namics.

My nephews have a hedgehog, I think they will get a kick out of this card!

MFT Superstars 2019: Coloring Virtuoso Entry

There's just something about stacked critters that I love, and I took it up a notch and created a dog pile, complete with the last pup trying his hardest to reach the top!

This card is my entry in the MFT Superstars 2019 Coloring Virtuoso category. I stamped, masked and stamped some more dogs from MFT's Lucky Dog and You Make My Tail Wag Stamp Sets and got to enjoy some no line coloring with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I finished the card with a banner created from Fishtail Flag Frames Die-Namics and a sentiment from, Essential Sentiments along with a die cut "Hugs" from the retired Hugs Die-Namics.

MFT Superstars 2019: Clean and Simple Genius Entry

One of things I look forward to every years is the MFT Superstar Contest. It is always fun to stretch supplies, pull out some stamps that need some love, think outside of the box, and make something that I love. There are always so many superb entries that I make a point to look at them and learn from the talent! I might not have all the new products, but it is awesome to be able to create with what I do have!

For the Clean and Simple Genius Entry, I created a little scene of a remorseful kitten. The kitten comes from the retired Smitten Kitten Stamp Set, he is colored in Copics. Then, I used the retired Stitched Strip to create some "cat scratches" in the background, and finished the card with a sentiment created from Deepest Sympathy and a die cut word the retired Friend Die.

Boughs and Berries

May I present to you my absolute favorite project I created with the Deck the Halls Bundle from Catherine Pooler Designs It's All About Christmas Release?! I just love it, and I can't wait until it is time to send it out.

I started by die cutting all the fun elements from the Boughs and Berries Dies from Ultra Smooth White Cardstock and then stamped the corresponding images from the Boughs and Berries Stamp Set in inks from the Spa Collection. I wasn't too careful with my ink coverage, and even messily mixed two colors together, it is such a fun look! I then adhered them onto a Sand Dunes Cardstock card base. I then splattered white paint over the images, and finished the card by stamping the sentiment, also from Boughs and Berries!

As I mentioned the other day, this whole release is so much fun, and perfect for the holiday season and winter months. I'll showcase some cards later that feature a few stamps from this release in a non-holiday fashion too. The Catherine Pooler supplies I've used are linked (affiliate links used at no cost to you, I sure appreciate your support!) in the body of my post, I hope you have a chance to check them out!
Be sure to check back later this week, I will have more cards to share with this release!

Catherine Pooler Designs:: It's All About Christmas Release

It's happening now! Catherine Pooler Designs It's All About Christmas Release is available now! There are actually FIVE bundles to choose from, or, one easy click to order it all! Lucky me, I get to feature the Deck the Halls Bundle, stamps and die that were inspired from Pinterest Boards for Holiday Porch Decorating!

I'm in need of tags more than anything this holiday season, so I'm featuring items from the Deck the Halls Bundle on it. I started with a tag created from Ultra Smooth White Cardstock and previously released Tags, Etc. Die Set. I create a cute frame from the new Chalkboard Frame Dies (inked lightly with Over Coffee Ink) and stamped a sentiment from the new, beautiful Believe in Angels Stamp Set. I then embellished the tag with stamps and dies from the Boughs and Berries Stamp Set and corresponding Boughs and Berries Dies. I used inks from the Spa Collection for what I call "messy" two-toned stamping, and I love the look! I finished the tag with some ink splatters and luscious fibers for the tie.

Not to have cards left out, I created a fun holiday spinner card featuring a background made from the Oh What Fun Stamp Set and a focal point of ice skates from the same set and corresponding Oh What Fun Dies!

To create the spinner I free hand cut a window from the front of the card and used the Chalkboard Frame Dies to adhere a string of fishing line from the top to the bottom of the rectangle. I then die cut and stamped (using the mirror technique) two sets of ice skates from Oh What Fun and Oh What Fun Dies, sandwiching the string in between. A sentiment from last year's Holiday Mix Stamp Set finished off the card.

This whole release is so much fun, and perfect for the holiday season and winter months.

The New Manager

I still can't get enough of the Catherine Pooler Designs Color Burst Powders and all the different looks you can achieve with them. They can be bold and bright, or soft and subtle, like the card I have today!

A couple of months back, a new interim manager was inducted into my work team, and she is just the sweetest person and a really great boss. I made the card for her for the team to sign-we really wanted her to stay and thankfully, she has!

I started my card by applying some Color Burst Powders in Mardi Gras and Limencello onto Canson Watercolor Paper. After the background dried, I did some dry embossing with the Garden Gate Die. Then, with some water and a large brush, picked up some of the Color Burst Powders and let them sink into the areas defined by the Garden Gate Die for a bit of extra, subtle flair. One of the cool things with the Color Burst Powders is that you can get pockets of unexpected color, such as the orangish-red spot from the Limencello Color Burst Powder.

I finished the card by trimming the background panel and adding it to a card base from made from Ultra Smooth White Cardstock, a die cut sentiment made with the Welcome Word Die and a stamped sentiment from the Warm Welcome Stamp Set. This Duo is perfect for all kinds of warm welcomes. Sigh, I love simple cards that pack a punch!

Fall Frenchies

I was so excited to see one of the exclusive Simon Says Stamp Stamptember 2019 goodies arrive in my mailbox the other week! This cute Fall Frenchies was so fun to color and create with!

This first card is a one layer card. I stamped the cute Frenchie wearing a scarf and sentiment onto white cardstock, then, left the stamps in position and splattered some green, yellow and orange ink onto the card base. I colored the pup and added some older patterned paper to complete this clean and simple card.

I had tons of fun coloring this next cute Frenchie peeking out from a jack-o-lantern. The image was colored with Zigs onto Canson Watercolor paper.

I finished the card by matting the image with the same patterned paper used on my first card, and then added a sentiment from the same Fall Frenchies set.

I hope you have some time to check out Simon Says Stamp's Stamptember deals. What a fun month for the crafting industry. Simon had a great release, and there are collaborations with fabulous stamp companies throughout the whole month!

These Wood Slices Though!

Gah! These wood slices though! I love them, they are so versatile. Masculine, graphic, clean, dimensional...they have it all. The stamps, dies and patterned paper are all from Catherine Pooler, they were released with the Storybook Collection a few months back.

To create this masculine birthday card, I started with an Ultra Smooth White Cardstock base and then covered the top portion with the woodgrain paper from the Lumberjack Patterned Paper Pack. Then I stamped and die cut just ONE wood slice from the Hey, Mister! stamp set and Wood Slice Dies and with a few selective cuts, covered the bottom portion of the card. I finished the card with a sentiment created from Hey, Mister! and trees from the Wild About You stamp set and corresponding Wild About You Die Set. (Isn't that green color fabulous, it is the Sage Ink from the Spa Collection!)
