I've already got so many of those "precious memories" of my children growing up, but one that will always top the charts is seeing them last year during a heavy snowfall, bundled up in their puffy gear, heads up, mouths wide open, catching snowflakes. The best part of the memory is seeing both of them look at me with grins as big as can be, their cheeks a rosy pink and snowflakes still stuck on their long eyelashes.
Welcome to the third day of Lil' Inker Designs! November Blog Hop, featuring super great releases from the Sugar Kissed Cottage Line as well as fabulous, signature dies and corresponding stamp sets from Lil' Inker Designs. You should have arrived from Judith's Blog. You can start at the beginning of the hop, at Laura's Blog to find all the details.
I've combined two releases into one project today, and they are both really perfect! A Snowman's Soul is a sweet set full of the perfect winter sentiments and an iconic Sugar Kissed Cottage vintage image and the second is a signature Instant Camera die! (I promise to restrain myself to not to use this on every project from here on out!)
I started my card by stamping the image onto a white panel and lightly coloring it with monotone blues and grey. I then adhered this under the Instant Camera Die that had been placed on top of some acetate and glossy accents (to form a slight, sealed gap) and fine and chunky glitter. This created a shaker card effect!
I finished the card with a sweet sentiment from Rain Boy and A Snowman's Soul and a lovely May Arts linen aqua bow. My sneaks are done for the week, but tomorrow and Friday there are more from the other Lil' Inker Designers so please be sure to stop by Laura's Blog each day to start the hop. Your next stop is Mary J.! And remember...there are secret prizes along the hop so leave a comment on each stop to better your chance of winning!
Gorgeous Shaker card Karen! Love the simplicity!!
ReplyDeleteKaren, this is beautiful! Using the acetate is sheer creative genius! Not only does it make a cool shaker card but it also resembles the old polaroid pictures...especially when the photo wasn't fully devloped (not that I'm old enough to remember...yeah right!)
ReplyDeleteYour story of your two wee guys is so heart warming! Those of us who enjoy the miracle of a first snow fall will relate to your story with a big smile in our hearts!
