Further & Further

My father-in-law raises homing pigeons. He's got an amazing set up for them and part of their care requires letting them loose to fly. I asked him once how he knew each of the birds would come back, after they flapped their wings and flew, higher and higher, further and further into the sky when there came a point you couldn't see them anymore. He said to just wait and see, they'll come back, it is just what they do. So then slowly, after about a half and hour or so, each bird circled the coop and flew back in, they came home.

This is another entry for the 2013 Winter CHA Contest hosted by Lawn Fawn, using Sunny Skies. I know the birds aren't pigeons, but I was thinking of them as I set out to create the card. I started by stamping the one bird, and then proceeded to stamp the different styled bird in a various directions. They were heat embossed and colored. **The birds were all stamped with white craft ink first, and then heat embossed at the same time.** I highlighted the single bird by paper piecing it in yellow and lifting it's wing slightly with dimensional adhesive.
