What Lies Within Us

What lies before us, and what lies behind us, are small matters compared to what lies within us. -Henry Thoreau

Skipping Stones Design is sponsoring the Sketch For You To Try Sketch Challenge for the month of September. Jen creates some amazing sketches. Sketch challenges either get me out of my comfort zone or challenge me to conform the style of the sketch to "my style". I also used the beautifully tranquil color palette over at CR84FN to help guide the look of my card today. So serene and calming...

Supplies Used:
Cardstock: (Vintage Cream) PTI

Patterned Paper: Basic Grey
Stamps: (Always Here) Skipping Stones Design
Ink: (Walnut Stain Distress) Ranger
Other: (Natural Burlap String) May Arts, (Die Cut) Wplus9, (Corner Round Punch) SU

  33. THUD! Your layering is gorgeously simple and really frames the butterfly perfectly.

That quotation was my senior quotation for the high-school yearbook. I love it still! Of course, I wanted to put "Bees aren't as busy as we think they are; they just can't buzz any slower." But it lacked the weightiness expected from a geeky girl's yearbook quotation, even though it's absolutely true and completely applicable to me. *chortle*
