Ketchup

When we were first married, my mother-in-law gave me some wise advice: buy ketchup in bulk. What? Huh? Why? Boy, was she ever right! The husband went through ketchup like nobody's business. And now that I have two little boys along with my "big" boy, I am constantly purchasing ketchup...it seems that trait was passed to both boys. Ketchup goes on everything from potatoes to even green beans. Once, they experimented with cheetos too!

Every once in a while a stamp set comes along that you have to have, and Vegtastic was one of those for me, because of the "ketchup." I was inspired by the image at the latest Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge-incorporating the tomatoes, fabric, pin, textures and colors into my card. I am smitten with the way the canvas texture looks against the clean lines from the embossed card base, I've been trying to work with different textures since Moxie Fab World's Textured to Perfection Challenge came out.

Supplies: Cardstock: (Marigold Morning) SU
Stamps: (Vegtastic) Paper Smooches
Ink: (Walnut Stain Distress) Ranger
Other: (Beads), (Hat Pin), (Markers) Copic
Fibers: (Canvas Circle) Canvas Corp
Tools: (Grid Impression Plate) PTI

LOL, I totally laughed at your story. I am constantly buying ketchup, too, but it's just for my son! Too funny. Your card is gorgeous, Karen. I love the stamping and beautiful colouring on canvas. The addition of the pin is perfect!

In Bermuda we go through mayonaise in bulk! Or as Bermudians pronounce it - "May-nase". :)

Loving how the image looks on canvas and the cute pin too!

LOL! I know exactly what your MIL was talking about. The hubby does the same thing and even puts ketchup on a good steak.

This is so adorable! It has my mind turning with my PS tomato stamp too. I might need to get into the craft room ASAP!

This is just too cute! I love the beautiful color on the canvas! Fantastic layout and I love the hat pin! I wish I could find these are here! If I had the time, I suppose I could make some, but that would take away from time needed elsewhere....I also need to check out the moxie fab sight sometime!

Ketchup and green beans go together in our house too! Love that you included a pin in your card too... and that embossing folder is the perfect background.

Ack, totally fabulous.

I have to tell you, my ketchup expires (and by expires, I mean 2-3 years past the expiration date) all the time. We never use it and I always buy a huge bottle because it is cheaper. Hmmmmm, why do I even buy it?

Awesome card! I love the use of the canvas, the pin, and of course the cute tomato, which is perfectly coloured. (And I've learned not to take a dousing of ketchup as a comment on my cooking skills. :D)
Thanks for your visit to my little blog!

LOL, I understand completely... I used to have ketchup sandwiches - just bread and ketchup! (we call it tomato sauce). Love this card, the textures are fabulous :)

What a fun card - I love the PUN!
My Steve loves ketchup, too! One of our early "getting to know you" stories is about him finding a tiny jar of ketchup in the back of my refrigerator and noticing that it expired in 2006. Ummm, that's not gonna happen any longer!! He buys ketchup in the huge containers in multiples at Costco! LOL

ps - I love that you stamped on canvas - it looks really good!

Hugs!

Love this! No one in my house even likes ketchup but me (love Muir Glen organic ketchup--not too sweet), so we rarely have any.

I had a roommate in college like this, she put ketchup on EVERYTHING! Even potato chips (I guess that's not much different than Cheetos) I never understood it. Anyway, love the card! Now I want to go experiment more with canvas.
